Hello everyone. Our friend William Warrick and long time reporter for WSBT here in South Bend, has passed away. He died on August 22, 2015 at the young age of 96. He lived in Ogden Dunes, Indiana. One of many stops on the South Shore Line. RIP Bill.

If it weren't for the South Shore RR I would not have been able to date my wife. I lived in Chicago, she used the Hammond station. The posters the SSRR used to promote the Dunes are now sought after collector items. The Dunes HQ of the US Park Service sells reproductions.

    She's a good line, and she's a my line, she's a hard line, and she's a red line
She's a good line, and she's a my line, and the only way I ever get to work, day by day!
The ride is bumpy, and sometimes cold
We're riding in interurban cars 50 years old
But I didn't ride this line to complain
I'm just asking the president of the South Shore Line to retain
The spacial interest groups closed down,
but 6,000 commuter voiced can't be drowned
In a chorus, loud and strong, SHE'S THE ONLY WAY ILL GET TO WORK DAY BY DAY! She's a good line, she's a my line, she's a hard line, and she's a red line, and the only way I'll get to work, day by day. I know that, times are tough, but if we get enough, to keep the South Shore on the roll, and were gonna lose what we shared on the welfare role. I'm not a hotshot, I'm just a guy, with the kids in college, in a mortgage tie, so please hear by, it's pretty bad, and we'll keep the South Shore rolling through the land. She's a good line, she's a my line, she's a hard line, she's a red line, She's a good line, she's a my line, and the only way I ever get to work day by day!
