    I come here once every two months whenever I'm passing by you fill up my 2 5 gallon jugs. Never had a problem with the water till recently. last time I noticed after it sat for a while in my water dispenser, the remaining few ounces of water at the bottom of the jug had a little bit of a reddish tint to it. Has anybody else experienced this? Is this normal?

      That's probably iron or magnesium that's in the water.

    I would be worried about certain contaminants. This well is near a busy road and a river that collects rain water from various highways, roads and neighborhoods. Also, the deer could potentially carry "chronic wasting disease" prions. Nobody knows if such prions can affect humans or their pets but I don't think it's worth the risk. I use the water for my fish pond, that's it.

    They travel all that way, then they put it in plastic bottles that made with BPA. hehe

      +DaveDangerous74 That's a good point. Many people have the old glass five gallon bottles. You see all kinds there.

    Is it normal that it smells like rotten egg ?

    • @Flamadiddle2
      @Flamadiddle2 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, that's the smell of mother nature, lol, it's safe.

      It's called sulfur in the water tbh I can't stand the smell but that well water is better than any city tap water that's for sure

    I will never drink out of a forest preserve well again. Especially when it is very hot out. The wells are very shallow and can grow bacteria quickly in the heat. I was sick as a dog for 3 months with campylobacter bacteria from a well that had gone bad within 24hrs of it being tested. Lost 30 lbs and had swollen lymph nodes for 2 years. 26 other people that drank out of that well we’re deathly ill too. That’s my story on forest preserve wells and I’m sticking to it! It was the first time in my life I thought I would never recover.

      Not sure about that. Most of the Chicago forest preserve wells are very shallow

      They said in the video that’s why this is special. Said it’s been popular since the 40s doubt so many would go back for so many years if it was making them sick...

      @attilladacook3405 I agree with you drinking water from a well is no joke like you said you really don't know how deep it is
