    Jesus is my Vine. I am a branch. I want to abide in His love. Therefore, I will spend my first minutes of each morning and last moments of each evening with Him in prayer and reading His words.

    another one bites the dust! So so powerful esp. when David said, "we show our love for God with how we treat others." I love that. Thanks Grace and David, I don't know how you do this every week, but I learn something new each time! It's a gift to be a part of this covenant community.

    The feeling of bringing others to Christ is indescribable. I had the honor of teaching Gospel Principles, it was AWESOME!
    I will never forget when my son was baptized. My family came, but alas I had to stand outside the door - he was nervous and knew I would cry - he is 27 now and struggling to bring him back in.

    I think many times hard times and I look at it like a test to see if I am really converted to the lord and am I truly going to rely on the lord. Satan is going to truly test you also to try and turn your heart from god. So be prepared and trust in the savior and don't stop believing just because hard things happen.

    One thought I had come to my mind during my study is as the Lamanites laid down their weapons of war and buried them, what can I lay down and get rid of in my life so that I may never fall away?

  • @tony-northcountry3272

    Can someone explain this part.
    Alma 29:5 says, "Yea, and I know that good and evil have come before all men;
    he that knoweth not good from evil is blameless; but he that knoweth good and
    evil, to him it is given according to his desires, whether he desireth good or
    evil, life or death, joy or remorse of conscience".
    If Adam was blameless in the garden of Eden, why did God have to forgive his
    transgression (Moses 6:43)?

      Innocent people, who aren't aware of the Right thing to do, or perhaps those who were taught to do bad/wrong things, are not held to the same level of accountability as those who have learned/been taught right vs. wrong. Those who know right & wrong (and all of us start with the Light of Christ, which can give a basic sense of morally right vs wrong actions), choose to either act in ways that are consistent with what they know is right, or choose to go against that knowledge, which is sin & requires repentance. All are rewarded according to the good or bad choices they make, according to their level of knowledge/accountability
      Adam & Eve, I have been taught, did not SIN, for they did not yet know right from wrong, but they did TRANSGRESS, or go against/break, the law they were given - eating the fruit has been forbidden (of course, in order to keep one law they were given, it was necessary for them to break/transgress the other law, therefore enabling AGENCY - Multiply or Don't Eat the Fruit), so they were forgiven for breaking that law. They learned by their experience that it was WRONG to break God's laws. After learning that lesson, they were then held to a higher level of accountability in which breaking one of God's laws would be considered a sin & require repentance.
      If someone was taught to steal to survive, it doesn't change the fact that stealing is wrong & would therefore need to be forgiven. But it is easily forgiven, and only considered a transgression if the person did not know it was wrong. Once they learn it is wrong, then it is a sin.
      That is my understanding. There are many talks & articles in the Gospel Library that discuss sins & levels of transgressions which you can find by searching "sin." You may also want to research "The Fall". I hope this helps.
