These things do exist today. The Norwegian cross-country skiers have training skis for summer use, and are a common sight on cycle pathways (in Norway)
Basically "Roller Blading" during the 1910's. Just goes to show us, that people never change. Only our surroundings change. We still feel, think and enjoy the things we do today, the way people did 100 years ago, and even a 1000 years ago!
This seems like a sport that could have a decent revival... Imagine the look on the faces of the rollerbooters and bladers when you rock up at the skate park with your ski poles and cycle skates!
I havent checked yet but i can see the same type of braces that some tradesman use in the electrical trade, scaling up telephone poles to do their work. The only exception is instead of an angled blade tailored to keep the user from falling down, there is a wheel instead.
I have some of these that are basically a modern version. I got two or three years ago. They have quite a bit larger wheels, but about the same width of tires. They're pretty fast! And they do have a small second wheel in the back. For stability
@spacecentergames I was born with metatarsal coalitions in both my feet. I can hardly stand on a surfboard let alone in skates or Rollerblade, these look a lot more stable
Guy1: ah what a lovely day drinking tea with the boys Guy2: you said it its a wonderful day cracking the 90's with my boys Guy3: lets head to the shop where we can buy a new cosmetic for a new outfit in this day
For a second I thought it was gonna start playing the DU DU DU DU dududududududu DU DU DU DU dudududududududududududududu duuuuuu du du dududuu du du du du dudu
Those could catch on today.
Esp w battery charched
I have some. The wheel diameter is about twice as wide so they're pretty fast. Almost too fast. I forget where I got them.
Way more fun looking than roller blades. Plus large tires so you can go on rough terrain
why would you want to go on rough terrain with something you can't get to brake
it's just a recipe for disaster
@@oliviersavard8676 I'm pretty sure not everywhere was paved
I totally want these!
That looks fun! I could see me trying this and breaking an ankle or two...
OG Heelys
Okay, here me out why dose that look like it gives more stability than Rollerblade/ scates from today's age.

Why haven’t the French introduced this as a new sport in the 2024 Olympics?
What musical piece is this? It’s incredible!

Good times in the past
I'm happy someone already made these.
My design was terrible.
Your ankle literally can't buckle / wobble in these
Just thinking the same. I've never found skates of any kind comfortable 😕
@spacecentergames I was born with metatarsal coalitions in both my feet. I can hardly stand on a surfboard let alone in skates or Rollerblade, these look a lot more stable
I want these no joke 😂
With modern enhancements like a counterweight on the outside and inner gyroscope, these things would be amazing
Ich würde es gern mal probieren, der große Durchmesser ist halt gut.
Heeleys but the 1912 editions
Huh, those looks pretty sweet actually, they could go offroad on those huge wheels
Two years later and World War I started.
Coincidence? I think not.
yeah looks cool EXCEPT: no counterweight. I wonder how many broken and twisted ankles were caused by these?
Oh back in the day …

Ah belle epoch
The first roller skates 🎉🎉😂😂😂
