It is an old trick we used to do when I was a teenager and as a student with suede shoes who go worn off and got those shiny parts from old age. Only we didn't use dr martenscreme but just normal colourless leather fat like Rapide. It would turn the shoes in leatherr and could easily for another long round.

That’s interesting. Now I’m going to look into getting some and try that out too! I just did another shoe I’m going to upload soon too.
