That seal is going airborne right next to you and your like ....whatever lol. Love watching your content Adam.
yeah that was crazy! haha
The seals jumping near you cracked me up lol.
California squid are criminally underrated as food. I can only ever find them in tacklestore freezers for bait. Turns out that the vast majority of the commercial squid fishery in CA exports the squid and very few of them get sold domestically, which sucks.
Totally agree. Breaded and fried, stir fried, or stuffed and braised, they are great. The west coast fisheries have several species that are super plentiful: sole, squid, herring, mackerel, anchovies. The limits on these are really high so you can load up quite well. Smoking, salting or pickling are great ways to preserve a big catch.
Just like oil, the corporations sell all the oil they find in America and sell it over seas because they can get more for it, that's why you're paying more at the pump
Totally agree!!!!
Keep up all your videos. I really admire your content. You are an inspiration. May God keep you safe out there. Love all your videos and the content you provide. You even make the commercials for your sponsors very interesting to watch
Excellent and informative. It's good to see various aspects of fishing, such as catching natural bait. I know it's not your thing, but I would have enjoyed watching the cooking and frying of the squid.
I appreciate that!
Here in South Australia, we are only aloud 15 squid per person. But they are 5 times the size of those. Great video
Hi Adam, It was nice to meet you on the water and watch you catch squids. I only caught a dozen squids while you were catching 150. I guess I need more practice. Thank you for your tips. Paul
Nice to meet you too! Hope to see you out on the water again soon!
13:14 wazzaaaap hooman?
Photo bombed by a seal.
😂 You go through a lot of ziploc bags!😁
I always wonder if you ever dropped your phone or glasses into the sea?
I have dropped my sunglasses before but luckily never my phone.
💛...it's $14.99 for three pounds at the store... approx 12-15 count...so, about a buck apiece...$5/pound...calamari steaks run about $7 a pound... having fun catching=priceless...
I caught $150 worth of bait! haha
Crushing it as always! Hopefully you get on some halibut soon.
Hope so! It's been too long!
Sometime it would be nice to see how you prepare the squid to eat and to freeze. Maybe even show how you season and cook them. Most probably fry them but can you bake, grill or instapot cook them? You good homemade recipes you may want to divulge! Great video!
we used to catch squid out at Catalina Island and BBQ them with lemon garlic butter. the quick hot flame cooks them perfectly in about 3 mins. Instapot would pretty much disintegrate them I think. not necessarily a bad thing if you are working on some kind of squid stock? but yeah, less cooking the better for squid.
What garmin fish finder do you use?
Adam, you were most definitely death on squid in this video 😂
Awesome fishing videos hi from Norway fish on 🎣
Hello 👋
Should the jig sinks to the bottom or only drop to certain level? How many feet? From fish finder looks like squids are swimming on top water.
squid move up and down constantly. helps to have a fish finder.
60-70?? Watch out Taku might try to eat them all! 😂
I made sure not to let Taku near my squid
13:02 Welcome to the Die Hard Fishing Sea Lion Show!
sea lion photobombing like a cat.
Adam.. that was a great day! I had guessed 120. Close but no cigar hahaa
That was a good guess!!!!
Limited???
Hopefully you you a few for live bait on a jig head or knocker rig 🍻
Hey have you ever fished loch lomand in felton?
Nope!
You should c9me down to Hollister Ranch to fish, over the summer people catch MASSIVE HALIBUT and SEABASS
Fresh squid is as good as abalone. We used to get lots in L. A Bay
Where are your fishing net fishing at
Go down to the docks and the squid fisherman will take care of you. Have a lot of friends who fish squid and we on the charter boats catch them every night for bait when they're they're around. You should always be soaking a bait on the bottom when making bait, the game fish are where the bait is
Those bags going to turn into bigger bags. 🤘🏻
I hope so!!!!
That seal was hilarious😂. What month do you believe is best for surf striper in the Monterey bay?
I caught my biggest fish in September
What beach or place in california are you fishing for squid
It’s hard to use squid in the surf! crabs ALWAYS steal my bait eventually I just gave up…. Would be interesting to see what set up you could use from the surf!
I've never had much luck with squid in the surf either!
I have tried squid once in Japan and once in South Korea! I just can't eat it....was like eating a bicycle inner tube! Lol. They do work great for fishing bait!!
sounds like they over cooked them
@@davidsimmons8879 yup, exactly. squid need very little cooking time. BBQ takes less than 3 minutes for these little guys. sauteed in a pan, probably 4 mins. you do NOT want to overcook these little squid.
Great video keep it up 😍😍 🎣
I like New England Squid chowder, like New England Clam Chowder but use squid instead.
doesn't cooking the squid that long make it tough and chewy? no thanks.
@@thomasneal9291 I put the squid in at the very last, right before the potatoes are done.
Hell ya !!monoray !! Monoray !!!!
Great videos bro…can you catch squid from the jetty??? I thought there was a squid bag limit of 10?
No limit
I would say its possible but very unlikely from the jetty. A boat or kayak would be much easier and more likely
the net they use is called a 'seine net
Wouldn't a spinning reel be more efficient for squid fishing ?
level wind has line meter on it. Otherwise, sure.
🎉
I heard that time a kayaker caught a gray ghost that true? Ghost 👻 bustas!!!
not sure, but congrats if they did!
Nice. Squids are too precious to me. I can't use as baits😅
Only a select few get the privilege of being selected for bait haha
lmfao Adam lets be honest your in frisco area you do not keep that in the front seat long 😂😂😂 and i love squid it makes my skunky days 😢😅😂😢
Where is this at?
It's always calm
I always check the weather channel it's always blowing in
Bodega
Halfmoon bay...etc
It's completely calm in your
vids
I’m thinking this is Monterey. Looks like cannery row behind him.
Yup it was. He went towards del Monte beach for the halibut
No ink with these guys?
yup, there it is!
My guess is 98. Eat squid? No thanks. You enjoy that. lol ✌️
Looks like you're in Monterey
U da man
Squid 🦑 fear me
Man I need to catch some.
go get em!
delish!!
the ocean underground on Ganymede is 8 times larger than earths ocean, so not the largest body of water known to man, just the largest terrestrial one.
Good to know! Thanks for the knowledge!
@@DieHardFishingwhere is this ? Thnks
i have never even catch 1 on a jig
give the squid jig from promar a try next time!
bring back catch and cook please. like this if you agree
my guess was 240. but damn that’s a catch!
240 is definitely within range!
Looking good but holy crap that's a lot of pornbots descending on the comment section all at once.
We’re are you?
you can sell for money yes?
Most places dont like you selling your catch given limits exist for conservation purposes, so check local regulations before getting any ideas.
also? not much money in squid. you have to fish by the ton, not the bucketfull.
