  • From my experience when starting kitesurfing the waves are like a pain in the $ss. However after some time and practice you start to enjoy the waves and making them as a trampoline for the jumps. For those who start kitesurfing the main things are:
    1) When approaching the wave - turn the front end of the board to the wave, not parallel.
    2) Lift the front leg up and push the back one down a little.
    3) Try to put your kite closer to 12 o'clock. It will give you vertical tension to push you up.
    Thanks for watching guys.

Thanks alot man recently I went from riding from choppy conditions to actually rising in waves, it was insanely hard to begin even though I can do some jumps and such, I will keep those tips in mind.
    2 questions please:
    1. If it’s a quite big wave I guess your only way is to jump over it right?
    2. Near the beach where the waves actually break down and hit you around, any tips for water start?
    Thank you!

      Hi thanks
      1. Yes. If the wave is high the only way is to jump or try to slide it by bending knees.
      2. I just try to keep away from such waves. However when starting - the only way is to align the time and to pass it when it is more suitable.
But still after time it becomes more enjoyable. For me it was about the first 40 hours of overall kiting kind of struggle mixed with enjoyment. And then everything comes easier and more fun/enjoyable.

Mu advice for rough water twintip kitesurfing:
      1) Take a kite and board that can overpower you on full bar in. For what: when wave approaches beside advices on video make your speed slow (with kite around 12 +/- 30 min)and pull bar in to make your weight on the board minimal without jump.
      2) For light winds use big bosrd with single od double concave, i.e. f-one the big one. For stronger winds use something like ocean rodeo mako.
      3) Try to train fast start between surges on the 0.5-2 ft deep water - this is for start. It doesn't mean you should ride fast - you should be prepared to start fast.
