Brass barrel nuts have been in use for a long time in windsurfing. I recall reading somewhere that there was a design reason for it not being stainless. Something with the failure mode I believe
Ive heard windsurfing friends complain about brass too! Haha. Im the end it’s really not a big deal because it’s incredibly easy to flip it around to the other threads. My Unifoil kit came with two extra titanium barrel nuts which is cool.
It's just a quip about things being tight. Torqued to spec is everything is calibrated to a precise measurement of tight. Cross threaded means you put it in wrong but it's tight beecause it's wrong. The point being your fuse mast connection is just groovy.@@wingmanfoilclub
