Usually, it would be syncing issues where you're in the air on your screen, but on his screen, you're still on the ground, thus allowing him to use his infect button

I mean on his level 2 stage his colors look pretty much the same as his default color since his tank is red regardless. But still super baby 2/Great ape look good in red though
I've noticed that since you don't get Yajirobe's sword as item like you do in Vegeta, if Baby becomes level 4, it is much harder to stop him from destroying STM. Best hope to stall him out in earlier forms until STM finishes.
