      Do you think a 100lb hickory flatbow is achievable? 2 inch wide limbs

      @@tonymaurice4157 Yes. I once made an 80 pound hickory bow. I don't really know why just experimenting. I hunt with a 46 pound bow it does the job.

    As someone who has seen the durability ,efficiency and deadliness of these arrows up close ,I will say, without a doubt, these are the finest arrows I have ever seen.

    Yeah perfect analogy .You have to learn the craft.Yes to take your time is parramount.I also beleive on foreshafts too.Best video I have seen

    It's funny when I was 12 I found primitive archer and Jay Massey and tbb's. And you guys wrote them when you were my age now.41. and the stuff you guys are doing now has put me thirty years in the future in knowledge. I can't be more thankful for you men. Thank you

    Glad to see you making videos again. Your videos got me interested in primative skills. I've always checked in from time to time hoping you had a new video. For some reason i always see that rabbit cooking in that soapstone bowl,keep the videos coming.

    Thad ... I loved the video man !!!! I used to be one of them guys that made the crude arrows . then i bought all your vids and billys too and lost myself in arrow making . ... Omg theres so much more to arrows than most people know . you showed that with the crude bow good arrows segment on one of your older dvds ! Im gonna buy the fire hardened bows ine today i think ....

    I've been watching a lot of tutorials about arrow making. I'm gonna try to craft my own. I'm gonna use your shaft technique, add some spoon tips, add foam fletching. I'm going to use carpet thread. Kinda old meets new. I'll let you know how it works. I made my own longbow. 😏

    I remember back in the mid 70;s I had a full blood Cherokee tell me that the barbed arrowheads were for war and the Bayou Goula type were for hunting, the Bayou Goula could be pulled out of the animal and reused.

      I have a gourd bowl, a small clay bowl and a wood bowl on the table. I made them all.

      I would not use it myself. Seems to grow twisted. I have never liked it.

    What do you think native people used for weight practicing shooting arrows? Did they shoot blunts?

      Yes native people used many types of blunts. Skipping arrows on water for fowl. The diversity in arrows and arrow points and blunts that native people used was great.
