True, my personal way of cutting my hair is to do the main trim with damp hair and then when it dries, just neaten it up a little. I have wavy hair so it’s a lot more forgiving if you neaten it up while it’s dry😂
It genuinely looks PERFECT! I have wavy, fine hair and I did a wolfcut (it’s roughly the same thing as the butterfly cut) about 2 years ago and the layers still look lovely even grown out. I think it even looks lovely in a ponytail! Plaits are quite a fight with layers though, either way- If you get it faffed with at the hairdressers I’m sure it’ll look even more fabulous!

The hair looks good. With that cut, you are suppose to cut your hair to the length you want, then go in with the ponies to cut in the layers. I think styled, the hair looks great. ❤❤
Hey jazz, I’ve pause the video a sec and I want to explain. So the butterfly cut isn’t supposed to cut length, it’s a layered haircut. It will give you the layering you saw to begin with. It’s a perfect butterfly cut, but from what you’re saying in the video, it seems you want length off not so much layers? What you should have done is went to brad’s video “how to cut your hair and not ruin it” and put your hair into 4 sections, 4 or more ponytails and cut the length THEN a butterfly cut if you want layers. However, I feel like you’re not vibing so much with the layers, it seems it’s not your kinda thing. It looks absolutely beautiful, but you saying you don’t like it and it looks short in a high pony etc so you need to cut actual length off. That’s why it’s so long still past your boobs, it’s given you layers, maybe you’ll have lost like half an inch of length but unless you cut too much, you will just get a layered effect. I’ve been watching Brad for years so I’m confident in my reply about what you should’ve done because it does seem like you wanted length off not just to have layers. Next time if there is one, do the other video where he shows you how to cut off length and then either add layers (butterfly or wolf cut) or leave it one length and just chop off a good few inches. It looks cute! But for what you were going for, I can see why you hate it!

The cut looks great on you! You have beautiful, healthy looking hair. When I'm cutting length off of my hair I split it down the middle then pull each side into a very low pony, as if they were in braids just going straight down. I tuck the front part of what would be my bangs in behind my ears first! Then brush several times to make sure all hair is where it needs to be & place a ponytail holder like by your chin. Then place another one down further, like where you want to cut it. Tucking the front part after splitting it, will give it a tiny bit more length in the front.... think angled Bob but much longer lol. I know I've made this sound so hard but I promise it's not lol. I've cut mine & my daughter's hair like this a few times now. I think there's a video on cutting it like this on here. I can't remember if it was a Brad video though. Look for cutting length off of my long hair or something similar lol. Good luck!
The butterfly cut doesn't affect the length at all because you are redirecting the hair so much, that's what creates the extreme layers! I think it looks nice, maybe just cut a couple of inches off the ends just to tidy them up?
I have done this before and it turned out cute. Pretty sure i have heard Brad Mondo say that this is for a style not to cut your hair shorter. Which is why you keep thinking it has not got shorter. Plus you are meant to clean up the ends.

Your hair is short in a pony tail because now you only have your longest hair at the bottom of your head and when you put it in a high pony tail it has to go up the length of the back of your head and then come out in the pony tail with what is left which ends up being like half the length of your longest hair which is about even to your shortest top layers. Those shorter layers pretty much come straight out to the length they are in your pony tail. Similarly, no length came off your hair because this type of haircut is only to add layers. Bevause you over direct your hair in the high pony it’s only cutting the top layers of your hair
I love John Mayer too! Me and my husband saw him on his last night in Dublin it was amazing and even got to hear him play paper doll which I never thought would happen! Can’t wait to see him again when he tours :)
Halara is great for 3-4 weeks. Then they stretch out and they don't hug areas like it should and they slide down. Really sad because I love the look and the feeling of them

There is a reason people with short hair don't wear high ponies, it is for long hair.
