3070 its golden selection for price and performance. DLSS is amazing and with this feature these cards stays alive for a very long time. Only problem for these cards is 4k performance at ultra/high settings and Ray Tracking. If you looking 4k gaming - go 3080. If you looking 4k + Ray Tracking - 3080 ti or 3090. If you good with 1440p and ultra settings without ray tracking - 3070 is best selection.
I had an i5-8600K and RTX3070. I upgraded to the 13600K and my FPS in Cyberpunk doubled (from 70 to 140) with my old Low/Medium settings. Videos like this helped me see what to expect, thanks.

It’s a great card, the downside of this card is vram, I got it for $620. Do you think it’ll last 5 years more if I only play at 1080p because I just spent all my savings on this card and I’m a little concern because of the 8gb of vram.
To play at 1080p/60fps, even a 2070 will last for another 5 years. If you're playing on high settings instead of ultra, maybe some more 6 or 7 years. Games have been slowing down the graphical advances for a bunch of reasons, the graphical improvements between a 2023 game and a 2028 one will be much less noticeable than between a 2018 game and a 2023 one. You're pretty safe with your GPU, btw maybe the best cost/benefit today for those that can afford it ;)
Don't try to set everything to ultra settings in every game then you will be fine ,Because ultra settings just kills your fps and you can't notice visual improvements.

So now I’m debating if I should get the new LG 1440p/240hz oled as I want the larger 27” screen, higher res and black levels. Will I notice a significant drop in fps if I go up to 1440p say at med-high settings?
You can play Cyberpunk at 1440P ultra settings with 60+ fps on without any upscaling ..But if you turn on ray tracing there will be performance hit ..Fps will be around 30 (25-30) fps without any upscaling at 1440p while using ray tracing ultra (Not psycho )..Here is a video link that I tested different ray tracing settings in 1440p th-cam.com/video/A6uHuhcx1hA/w-d-xo.html
I believe in my opinion, you should prioritize the GPU first, maybe upgrade to a 3080 ti (4080 etc..) because the 3070 is not gonna cut it at 1440p trust me (i had one before i upgraded last month to a used 3090).
Wow really?? I thought the 3070 was supposed to be the 1440p ‘sweet spot’ as even the 3060ti was getting good results, although more so for 1080p. I even upgraded to 32gb RAM but I’m guessing it’s the 8gb of VRAM that you guys are saying it’s better to go at minimum 10gb, pref 12gb 3080 or higher for 1440p/240hz. This 13600K is really hot right. I see you’re using corsair H150 360mm AIO and in game the temperature sometimes above 70. I’m using corsair H100i is the same too. In default and not using power limit, i can get 100 C degree in cinebench R23 🤯
Yeah it is pretty much hard to cool 13th gen due to power consumption..I saw a video that 13600K Overclocked to 6ghz with using custom ek watercooling.
Don’t do 4k anything you’ll need a 4070ti at least along with a 4k high refresh monitor. just do 1440p untill technology catches up with production eventually prices will go down significantly like how 1080p did we’re just now normalizing 1440p and soon in the next couple of years it will be the new norm eventually cpus will be fast enough to support 1440 without a graphics card
It really depends on which games you want to play and which settings and resolution you are going to play …3070 isn’t a bad card it can perform really well in modern games but that 8gb vram really holding it back.
@@jeffrobert4736 Yeah If games are looking far more realistic while consuming more than 8gb vram at 1080p resolution,It is fine But the issue is most games don't look that great but consume a lot of vram .Hogwarts legacy still shutters with 4080 and It characters doesn't look that great.Red dead redemption 2 look great than all the 2023 games in my opinion.

In 1440p, the gpu utilization is at 100%, Cpu utilization is very low at around 20%. The Gpu temperature is usually around 70°c-75°c max under load and I get an average of 75-80fps sometimes more depending on the map. Anyways I wondering if those benchmarks sound about right? I know this game is very gpu heavy.. just wanted someone's insight. Thank you.

This test was done without dlss and maxing out everything in games except motion blur .I usually play with hardware unboxed settings and capping fps to 60 ..

What if you change 60ghz to 170ghz? some 2k monitors come with 60ghz Refresh Rate.
