And in contrast, I've seen a video of a Camero at a car meet in a large open parking lot in the US, have 2 cops come up to his windows on either side with one screaming at him "SHUT THE CAR OFF NOW, AND GIVE ME YOUR KEYS!"... All he was doing was on the spot revving like these Lambo's were but he wasn't even on the actual highway yet.

    • @moisesezequielgutierrez
      @moisesezequielgutierrez 4 ปีที่แล้ว +33

They don't know what is the actual meaning of "Ricers" and don't know how to detect/recognize one or differentiate them to other Types of Car guys.
Ricers = People who buy lots of exterior mods like Wings, Bodykits etc. and put them into their Cars and use them AS Show Cars OR they think they're "cool" but in reality, they're just messing it too much.
Tuners = People who buys mods (Any mods either for Engine, Internal or exterior mods) and slaps them to their Cars and increase/improve their Car's performance and use it to their fullest or squeeze every capabilities or potentials of it.
Hope that these people who read my comment should know by now.

RICE means Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancement
So yes, underglows are RICE, but spoilers and bodykits really effects the handlings of those Lambos and their engines are Ready-to-Race so they don't need any modifications maybe intake filters or exhaust systems for better sound and yeah, Ricers generally use any low-version of a sports car and don't modify their engines they just add big wings and bodykits, stickers etc.

He is Yakuza. No hinting. He made his money in grey zone prostitution. Most of the yakuza aren't explicitly illegal, they find loopholes and exploit them. Prostitution is a good example of that.
When I visited a few years ago, it was the trash apartment scam. You can't just throw appliances away in Japan - you have to pay for them to be recycled. It's expensive. So Yakuza would rent an apartment for a month, put up a front recycling business... people think it's legit... offering to take appliances for half price. Fill the apartment, then default on rent, walk away, and leave the landowner with the mess.
Strictly speaking, they didn't break any laws. But there is no morality or decency. "This is why we can't have nice things" moment.
In prostitution, they at least have to have some people skills to keep their girls around and mentally stable. That's a hot topic, though, so I used the recycling one.

Love the commentary and explanation, very well put and so well detailed. I love the Japanese car scene, these "outcast" types in Japan seem to have such a great outlook on life and are so damn humble. It doesn't matter if I think a lambo should have these crazy lights on it or not, what I appreciate is the story it is meant to express. They all enjoy each others cars without passing any judgement, even if they don't like each others style! I live in the North East of the UK and I think young drivers are learning from this culture more here as they're having car meets full of "ricer" cars and slow bois but they're all doing it because they love driving and they don't disrespect each other because they've all come from the same place. Hoping to see this mindset spread more.

this what i like about the car community in japan, they're gathering not just because of flashy they are or how does their cars look like but rather they share the same passion, not chasing for clouts or anything and they're free to express themselves without being constraint of peer pressure or what people might think about them, it's just that's who they really are as an individuals. yeah some of them maybe doing outlaw things but not all of them are like that and even tho they do have that kind of background, what will really stands out the most at the end of the day is how they're able to do what they love genuinely without having fears at the back of their minds. and last but not least, they always emphasize the connection between you and the passion that you have and keeping the culture alive. this is without a doubt, the place, the country that i wanna live in someday, it really suits for me not just because of the academic success or anything related to that but rather how they really think, their moral values, and their code of ethics. Albo-san, i know that you've already released this video many years ago and im still watching this even now, but i just wanna say thank you for making these kinds of stuffs. i really do appreciate your works and efforts for this one. hopefully i'll meet you there someday and have some fun with y'all!!! have a great day!!!

Aharon ben Avram of course I know that lmao. They also used a good amount of Japanese cars and some even spent over two million dollars just on modifying their cars.

There are so many aspects to Japan that I want to experience or explore in person.
From the city life in Tokyo, to the more country like life further north in Japan. Car culture and car meets, the food of Japan, the different shops or restaurants, amusement parks and gaming centers. This is why I adore the idea of taking a month or two off work, school, or life in general in my hometown, and just go on an adventure in Japan, see all I can see, do all the things possible at the time, and just enjoy the culture, the people, as well as my time.
Japan will forever be on my bucket list, and something I want to strive for... no matter how long it takes me.

You know what would be really cool?
How about a documentary on the infamous street racing cyndicate the "mid night" racing club
Although people thought they were disbanded back in the 90s but there is a rumour that they were not disbanded at all and were pretty much alive(although i bet they were not racing anymore) it would be so amazing if you get to meet some of the member of the club or ex member of the club and finally comfirmating every misconception that people had on the club

Very nice vid, your respect and dedication to document all this is commendable, you should do a survey to recollect the data you want, cuz not many people read the description.
    1. Name, age, location
    : Mauro.G, 20 y/o, Argentina
    2. Why you feel content about real JDM culture is important: For one, the documentation of all street cultures is something commendable, as they are lost with time, and their fans, relatives, or historian can look back at what they were.
    3. Why you trust me to tell these stories and continue to follow me: You where one of the few that i found that respects the culture, documents it, and you seem real with your audience.
Ps: You need to stabilize the recording, it can make people a little bit dizzy.

JDM culture is more than just a car thing. Sure it's all based around car but how many thing in general bring people together from around the world. So many people want some iconic like an R34 for example. But what you make with what you have that's enjoyed by people around the world is priceless thing. I once saw a post when the C7 whent for sale in Japan it said "Hey Japan I hope you enjoy the new Corvette as we have enjoyed your R35 your friend and track rival some guy from America". If that doesn't speak volumes about the car culture iam not sure what does.
