I think you should have visited the Royal Botanical Garden which is worth $15. Few days ago, I visited a botanical garden in US which is very small compared to the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, and I had to pay $14. If you visit Nuwarelliya, there is a garden in Hakgala too. Horton Plains en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horton_Plains_National_Park, a world heritage site, is another great place to visit.

    1. 14:20 Someone answered this before, but the sweet you had with your tea is called jaggery! ^^
    2. 15:00 About the pinky thing with teacups, I believe it's to counteract the weight on the fingers you use to hold the cup.
    3. 15:10 My favourite kinds are lemon tea and teh tarik!
    4. 22:28 "Smur puru" is actually murukku, it's a nice little crunchy snack. A little spicy but super savoury.
    5. 22:51 That is indeed a monitor lizard! It's an Asian water monitor, or "kabaragoya" in Sinhala.

14:22 That is jaggery. In Sri Lanka, we call it "Hakuru". Kithul hakuru= Kithul jaggery (made of sap of Kithul tree), pol hakuru = coconut jaggery (made of sap of coconut tree). Google this word > Athure yanawa. You can see how people who do toddy tapping in Sri Lanka, move from one tree to another.

I am extremely happy to see a tuk tuk driver treating nice to 2 girls. Of course he's doing a job and he's getting a discount for bringing tourists. That that's how he lives. But this guy 'Saman' has been really professional which is very rear to see a tuk tuk driver here in Sri Lanka. Talking about tea Sri Lanka was colonized by Europe countries for spices. They planted coffee first and then it failed. And the British bought tea from India to Sri Lanka which was perfect to grow here. Sri Lankan soil is different to India. Because of many environmental reasons. Even India produce tea ( and some other countries) quality wise ''Ceylon Tea'' (the brand name for Sri Lanakn tea) is the best. Sri Lanka was the top tea exporter but now some countires have taken over like Kenya. Still you can't find the same quality from other countries.

Hello. I came across your vlogs when you were in Poznan, Poland as I am originally from Poznan. That was the first time you touched my soft spot. :). And now you are talking tea.... Another soft spot. :). In between these soft spots I am following your further journeys and I love them. I love the light, smooth way you put your vlogs together. After a long day at work, it is nice to unwind watching your next vlog. Thank you for that. Coming back to tea, I love green tea from one particular seller that is in Poznan and Warsaw and it is called 'Five o'clock'. I am not sure if they sell tea from Sri Lanka, one of my favs is from Japan. Anyway, I am so with you when it comes to real tea. It tastes so nice.
As at the time I am writing this, is a few hours until New Year 2020, let me wish you all the best for the next year. Safe, pleasant journeys, good people around, good health (including ankles), enough money to do what you love to do, fast internet and whatever would make you feel really happy.

In the late 60's or early 1970's the government was keen to change and break from the rest of the world.so they decided to have the monthly day off as the full moon. Then each quarter day was the day off equivalent to Sunday. Of course the full moon day is always rainy. The quarter days also rained.the law was abolished as the rain put a dampner on every day off!

I wondered about it too, Looks like he truly tricked the girls into believing they are in a Buddhist holy place, sneaky guy, just for donations, just like the touts, Tuktuk scammers on the streets.

After reading other comments etc i should take bake calling him sneaky Hindu, etc, as hes not seem to be trying to trick anyone just doing the standard hindu puja or arthiie etc, but its the beer girls didnt know it was a small Hindu place. I wonder where's his place in connection w the Lge Buddah, or talatha tooth temple.

Haha..He wasn't a Buddhist though, It's a Hindu temple, and that priest is most probably Hindu .Well, Kandy is the second largest city after Colombo, and it was the previous capital of Sri Lanka and the last kingdom.Main attractions are temple of tooth relic and the Royal botanical garden

There are people who want to sell something and make tourists uncomfortable like a man at 20:43 minute. Those must be stopped. Anyone who want to deal with tourists must be registered and trained. Hope Sri Lanka tourist Board will take this into consideration.
