As a Mexican it makes me so proud to see people embrace the food. Because food bring everyone together no matter where ur from.
Yess indeed 🙌 👏 that food looks fire 🔥😋
Idk man they love our culture but hate our people this doesn't feel like homage more like a money grab
I'm sorry but if I don't see the staff being Mexican, especially the cooks, I won't eat. I been in (so called) mexican restaurants, where the cooks are white and the food sucked. Nothing against white but no one cooks great Mexican food like Mexicans. Facts
@@LuisRuiz-qz3bo That's what I'm saying 👏
Nobody cares
Im a proud Mexican who loves that Mexican is basically America's favorite food
Edit: not Mexican food, but definately Mexican food-inspired, looks good 👍🏻
When ever I am eating I play guy Fieri on the Yt an start eating 😅
Same!
Me too!
We all do this its why we are here the cult of fieri
Me too
I'm doing this now
You know it’s good when Guy can’t wait to taste it. Looks Incredible!!!
Oof this is how you do Mexican food! He made it his own but brought a LOT of Mexican elements to it. Looks freakin’ delicious!!!
I come back to this video every couple of weeks cause it makes me happy
Looks deliciuos thank u for embracing our food.
this looks sick! Definitely on my bucket list. Both of these places.
Just amazing!!!
I do, however, like his take on new innovations for the fruit....thumbs up
Guy you should do a show on home backyard cooks that don't have restaurants but kill it with there friends on the food they make.
He already does that those people have graduated from there back yard to opening and owning a restaurant
@@matthewtoddsr.6743 I was strictly talking about people that don't own or plan on owning a restaurant.
@@mikenicholson2548 good idea definitely wouldn’t run out of content
Mexican food number 1❤️
Who wants to watch backyard cooks tho
I swear I don’t think I saw one Mexican in there 😂 probably still good
This place was doing this food in the early 2000's so I think the trend of increasingly authentic Mexican food in the US was still in its earliest days. In that way, I think this was ahead of its time, but, if we are honest, this is certainly more authentic than most other Mexican restaurants in Cleveland at that time but more an interpretation of Mexican food than actually authentic. Not surprised that the Hispanic people in Cleveland were going to other places.
That's cause Mexicans aren't eating this. This dude took Mexican food and made it as American as possible.
So freaking true
@@sergiodelburquevelasquez5666 why do you sound so personally offended
@@@danielstbrown895
Because white ppl love to take everything from everyone else.
I remember when walking by this place when I lived next door in Detroit-Shoreway for a few months in 2010. I hope it is still there because the menu looked amazing.
Guy can be so funny sometimes, you know it's good when he can't finish his sentence 😂
95% American , 5% Mexican , at least some of the dishes have some Mexican names in them 😂, still looks pretty delicious
Looking Good... Welcome to the Familia 😁👍
Mexican food is the true food that we all love!! North/South. It is simple 🤠 it is great. An I am so glad to live in S..Texas. An have the real. But I love the culinary take on a simple food.
Simple food but can’t be replicated elsewhere
@@ralphymay5292 not always simple, regional dishes can get really complex
@@ACE7O2 which is annoying because when a special date arrives you know you are going to spend an entire day cooking to get it ready for the actual event like mole poblano before independence day
Actually not simple at all if you’re cooking real Mexican food
@@TexasMex422 Depends on what you mean by simple, labor intensive or lots of time? Sure, but authentic Mexican food is far from difficult to make, and that's part of the reason people love it.
It’s crazy that they don’t have any refrigeration… that’s truly fresh!
Doubts that. No walk-in coolers doesn't mean they don't have any refrigeration units. Eggs, milk, cream, cheese, and all other forms of diary products require refrigeration units no matter what they're claiming.
@@ceemontana5877 he says no refrigeration. Also, only in the US do we refrigerate eggs. No other country does. And if you use that cheese first thing in the day, it’s fine in a cool, dry spot once made.
The owner/chef mentions using a refrigerator for some ingredients that require it, about halfway through the video. But they don't make anything in advance to store in coolers.
@@ceemontana5877 who cares? What are you, the refrigeration police? Geesh, food looks fresh, let it go.
Those tables full of ingredients are all refrigerators.
Guy love the food you show an make God bless (Orlando Gambino)
God this place looks amazing.
The taco looked soooo good😩
It looks delicious.
That is some awesome food ! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM !
Damn son. That's really creative with the ingredients
Whoo, Santa cruz,, proud local !
It’s like going to a Chinese taco stand 😂
I would like the recipie for the Rahitas, please.
I always just scroll this channel for these specific guy videos lmao
Wow!!!
Me too,it's a reward,
Guacamole tradicional doesn't have garlic....it's made simple with tomatoes, onions, jalapeños or (where I'm from) curranos...salt to taste
And? Everyone cooks differently. Some people like garlic. People get so offended when others don’t cook exactly the way they do. 😂 it’s food. People eat what they want. Dumb people get mad about what other people prefer.
I put garlic in my guacamole. And I sell about 30 gallons every week. 🤷♂️
As long as you using fresh ingredients. I see nothing wrong with different variations.
@@@bill5921
Maybe because he’s calling it “authentic” Mexican food and there’s nothing authentic about it. Never met anyone in my family or in real life that’s eat Mexican food like this.
@@NA-se9fr I stay in Mexico every summer. I know lots of people who put garlic in. So are those people not authentic? Just bc your family fiend do something doesn’t mean it isn’t traditional for another Mexican family. My point being is one family doesn’t create the curb for authentic. If it’s fresh and uses similar ingredients and techniques then it too becomes authentic. 🤷♂️ people should get over themselves and the pride they have for simple differences.
This guy is celebrating your culture, and all you can do is say “ ohhh. But it’s not authentic enough, blah blah blah.” At least he probably washed his hands. Wish I could say the same for the other Mexican establishments. 🤷♂️😂
@@bill5921 all I can do is laugh bc you sound like a YT fragile male. Anywho! Being an expat does not make you one with the culture nor an expert. It’s like me saying I know what it’s like to be Polish bc I visit every now and then. Lmao. Two, this is not an authentic recipe. I am not sure why this is triggering for you. Y’all have a history of appropriation, so it’s not surprising. Yes, variations of guacamole exist but the recipes stem from Mexico. This one does NOT, Billie.
We do not need YOU ALL to celebrate our culture. We do that perfectly fine on our own. LOL. And then for you to say it’s okay for someone not from the culture to label this as authentic Mexican food (which does not stem from Mexico) then on the other hand call authentic restaurants dirty…just say your shit is unseasoned and move on! 🤭
If you need references, ask!
Yummy 😋
Love Mexican foods,spicy 🔥 identical taste.❤🎉
Wow I’m Mexican and impressed
OMG, Aldo,s!
Santa Cruz, Cal, is a great place.
Aldo's, is great food.
Been there, done that.
👍
First one is Tex mex , you can find this anywhere
Well im stealing tge guacamole recipe!!! Tgat looks killer good.
That Mod-Mexian food looks good. 👍. If u ever been to Down Town Palo Alto California there's a lot of interpretations of Mexican way of cooking. 🤟
lots of good places there.. bring the good credit card
Such a culinary experience the USA has so much to offer!
Glad someone is actually using corn tortillas
I'm very confused by the fish inside of the guacamole.
Same
Not everything had to be traditional. That’s crab btw. He’s pretty much made a crab dip. Using avocado instead of mayo . Similar texture. Richer taste. And better for you. 🤷♂️
Drooling over 🤤 over here hell yea love Mexican; love spicy love seafood 🦞 🍤 wait 🤔…. I love food 🍱 lol 🥰
Ps I’m Italian 🇮🇹
You have to visit California for best Mexican food 😋
This is why they call us Believeland💯
That guac looks insanely good
Hey Food Network UK, you guys spelled 'Cleveland' wrong in the description.
The "mistake on the lake." 🙄
oh o... some fell into my mouth...
lol
It's not authentic if you're putting a twist to it, but it does look good
💯
Why are you so awful?
The guac doesn't even look remotely good.
Says someone commenting on a UK post for mexican food. 🥴🥴🍆. Stay in your lane.
Did he just make up rajitas? Food looks good he’s just having fun with different styles people need to relax lol
I still remember 15yrs ago meeting guy and selling him some KATE MOSS 😄 🤣 😂
Oh yea I remember that too that was great
@@TylerDobbs64 😄 🤣
Where at in Cleveland Ohio
Cleveland trying to weigh in on Tex Mex makes Ohio an even bigger joke
It's just food. Anyone anywhere can make whatever they want.
The thumbnail looks like Guy is blowing boogies on the food. YUK!
Ya need to do wurstfest in New Braunfels TX.
I Definitely Wanna Try The Goat Cheese The Blue Cheese Or The Smoked Trout Bacon Guacamole
Its actually Barbacoa...Machaca is pretty much finely shredded carne asada and not wet.
You were in Santa Cruz and you also go to Hollister but you haven't checked out a Mexican restaurant in Watsonville? You sleeping on Watson my guy hahaha
Pues no es comida mexicana pero se ve buena
Ques'que es cómida mexicana "moderna". Pero sinse ve buena. Como un barbecue Mexicano
Guy is a DBag but I do love DDD.
i want 🤣
In this video there are actually not to many MEXICAN PEOPLE in HAWAII, but in NYC, there are a lot of MEXICAN people spread out, and I enjoy MEXICAN food, and it's not expensive, very affordable and they take pride in their food and because they are from MEXICO, they want to come here, either in CALIFORNIA, ILLINOIS, FLORIDA, AND NEW YORK CITY, and it's not expensive, good eating and sometimes I will ask for the recipe, which they don't mind and I am the same way as I have taught, MEXICAN PEOPLE, International food, and it doesn't bother me as I have a lot of different recipes, it's only food
I don’t think orange marmalade in a “Mexican” is authentic
Get guy down to the uk to do uk version of trivia d
👍👍❤❤😁😁
Lime juice!
Hasn't this guy been on before with a grilled cheese place?
It looks like he's picking his nose in the thumbnail.😂
gawwwwleee
"mexican onion" "mexican oregano" you mean just regular onion and oregano lol
Taquitos (or Flautas, the longer ones) are Not "small Tacos"!! Taquitos are rolled up and fried...Those are Street Tacos....they made in the beginning 💀
Im sorry that's not guacamole that's something else
Didn’t I see this nearly 20 years ago ???
Mexican American food huh. Looks good doe.
Good job dude who said it has to be "" ""
1:21 #ThatsWhatSheSaid
That place would kick ass in Austin or L.A. where we really know Mexican food. Minus the trout that is exactly the way I make my guac. Can't have too much lime in good guacamole.
If you have a ripe avocado why ruin the flavor ya goof?!
🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
Still can't beat one of the new stuffed grilled steak burritos from taco bell. 😋
Kosher salt, kosher salt, kosher salt...Thefork!
Machaca not dried? But wet. Wow 😲
Is mora like a birria no Machaca
@@leonelcastillo3278 that's what I was thinking cause I was rasied on machaca. And never had it that wet with no eggs and beans haha
I tried one of Guy's restaurants in Boston, the food was really good. The noise level well let's say it was Awful!
Momocho Name Meaning
Spanish: nickname from morocho 'well-built, robust, strong',
Give me a little bit Lov it
Finally a cook that knows the difference between JUS and AU JUS! Jus is the sauce, gravy or liquid remaining. Au jus is when yo uptake a protein and ADD the jus to the protein (I.e a steak Au jus is a steak that has the jus added to it. You do not add AU JUS to an item. You add JUS and the dish becomes XYZ Au jus!, capiche, compreendes, comprendes?
Mmm no comprendos still
Great interpretation ! just never call it authentic. and we ll be fine.
Impossible, I don't believe they don't have a walk in or a freezer. The health department would shut them down if they didn't have a way to keep things cold. I will be going there in 2 weeks as I only live 45 min away and see that, they don't have a walk in SMH
Putting coffee on your brisket??
Momocho allegedly means troublemaker per Google
Not a Mexican person in sight. How good could it be?
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍🤠🤠🤠🤠😎😎😎😎
That's not Mexican food it's something else
"You don't get this anywhere else"...You don't say..Not even in ...Mexico!???
Mexicans would never make this 😂
Hahaha oh hell no
People getting upset in the comments but his restaurant is in Ohio, I assume there isn't a big Mexican population so this guy has to make the food with a twist or he would go under.
Italian Mexican
I’m blessed by GOD 💴
Just because you call something mexican food don't mean it's mexican food
Called machaca with no real machaca
Raviolis are mexican now?
