Birmingham is in England, The Ulster University's main campus is based in Northern Ireland, which, yes is one of the four Countries of the United Kingdom. Although you would be attending a University from Northern Ireland, this campus is in England's second largest city.

Birmingham is no more or less safe than any major city in England and is very multi cultural. However, statistically, If applying for the University of Ulster generally, it's campuses in Northern Ireland in Belfast and Londonderry have vastly lower crime rates. Again though, Multi culturalism is relatively recent in Northern Ireland and the non white population is very small compared to Birmingham. Northern Ireland also experienced high levels of racism in the summer of 2024.
