On the subject of senses. I remember in college there was this person studying there. As soon as I saw them, something inside me was telling me there was something off about them. Because of this, I never went anywhere near them. And I had a good reason too. They had massive anger issues and much later assaulted one of the tutors, giving them some pretty serious injuries and was expelled from the college and locked up for sometime. I'm actually taking a class all about the philosophy behind our senses!! And there is definitely more than just 5 senses that we actually possess ourselves, let alone the ones that we don't have. Depending on your definition actually, we could have up to 17 different senses. And then there are also senses like magnetism or electricity detection found in some animals that have specific receptors dedicated to them. It's actually really cool to think about.

I think they all don’t grasp the difference between writing, watching, and re-experiencing/even experiencing for the first time a memory. With writing you’re not as certain as to what was going on for that person, in that moment - sometimes you’re not even certain that’s the right person. Heck you’re not even certain always as to their intentions. With a video you can watch, you can see the moment. You’re able to watch it play out and develop but at the same time you’re generally watching a sort of persona developed for that purpose. Sometimes you’re not. Sometimes you are. But ultimately you’re able to see things, understand, and empathize much better. The issue is again you’re not privy to the thoughts in their head. With re-experiencing or experiencing a memory you’re in the moment for sure, you’re watching from their perspective and depending on how that goes you might be able to feel the emotions the person who the memory comes from felt at that time. The other issue is at the same time would you be able to understand their thoughts? Be cool if so but might not ever be possible. Anyhow my random rant is over.

On the subject of senses.
I remember in college there was this person studying there. As soon as I saw them, something inside me was telling me there was something off about them. Because of this, I never went anywhere near them. And I had a good reason too.
They had massive anger issues and much later assaulted one of the tutors, giving them some pretty serious injuries and was expelled from the college and locked up for sometime. Apparently they already had multiple cases of this happening at different schools, each one at different points in their life as they were growing up.
So yeah, someone my mind said was dangerous, actually turned out to be dangerous. So I feel like there are senses out there we just don’t know about or can’t properly comprehend.

They use those because after youre done doing your business your hands usually become dirty even if you havent gotten any of your own body fluids and stuff on it, which is why they have automatic ones in public washrooms so people dont touch other peoples germs when needing to wash their hands.

I'm actually taking a class all about the philosophy behind our senses!! And there is definitely more than just 5 senses that we actually possess ourselves, let alone the ones that we don't have. Depending on your definition actually, we could have up to 17 different senses. And then there are also senses like magnetism or electricity detection found in some animals that have specific receptors dedicated to them. It's actually really cool to think about.

I think they all don’t grasp the difference between writing, watching, and re-experiencing/even experiencing for the first time a memory.
With writing you’re not as certain as to what was going on for that person, in that moment - sometimes you’re not even certain that’s the right person. Heck you’re not even certain always as to their intentions.
With a video you can watch, you can see the moment. You’re able to watch it play out and develop but at the same time you’re generally watching a sort of persona developed for that purpose. Sometimes you’re not. Sometimes you are. But ultimately you’re able to see things, understand, and empathize much better. The issue is again you’re not privy to the thoughts in their head.
With re-experiencing or experiencing a memory you’re in the moment for sure, you’re watching from their perspective and depending on how that goes you might be able to feel the emotions the person who the memory comes from felt at that time. The other issue is at the same time would you be able to understand their thoughts? Be cool if so but might not ever be possible. Anyhow my random rant is over.
