Most down to earth HC in the Big12.

Most of the big 12 coaches are very down to earth people that’s why we have such a great culture in our league. Great coach and great interview.

TCU better dump Dykes quick if he falls flat after this upcoming season, or risk becoming the Cal of Texas.

Could not agree with you more. If TCU is going to strive to be a blue blood program they are going to have to act like one. Meaning if Dykes doesn't go at least 8 & 4 this year, they need to fire him. Man is being paid a ton of money to compete for championships every year. The risk of falling into mediocrity and not being able to recover from it is just to great to allow him to coach again in 2025, especially when he got to the College Playoff with Gary Patterson's players.

Cal was Dykes' only overall losing record as a head coach. He had a winning records with Louisiana Tech, SMU and with TCU. But I do agree if TCU isn't bowl bound, they need to get rid of him (and Briles) or put him on notice. The game has changed too much for TCU to fall behind.
But don't forget, Gary Patterson didn't have a stellar start: 6-6, 10-2, 11-2 and 5-6 starting out as TCU head coach. And while he had 6 out of 7 years with 10+ wins in the Mountain West, when TCU joined the Big12, his first two years were 7-6 and 4-8 before he adjusted.
Hopefully he's seen what he has to do, adapts and overcomes and does TCU and the Frog fanbase proud.

Sonny Dykes is a mediocre coach - Frogs need to get used to 6-6 seasons.

He’s proven to take Programes from being irrelevant to being in the mix in pretty much every team he’s coached for TCU 22 season had a lot of kids he didn’t even recruit and even as a hardcore TCU Fan the pieces just fell into place that year this is the start of a Process and this season surely I can see improvement and next season they will be relevant

@@nestaangileri2003 Are you sure about that? You may want to look up his coaching record:
LA Tech: best season was 9-3
      Cal - best season 8-5
      SMU - best season 10-3
When you average out his wins (minus two seasons at TCU), he's around 7-6 per season.
      He's mediocre.

Except for Cal, he's had an overall winning record. TCU has been his best show. But I do think that if he doesn't get a bowl game this season, he's on the chopping block. Hopefully Kendal Briles will be gone or learn how to call plays.

@@grondhero His win total, as a HC, is 89-72, which includes his two seasons at TCU. Here is the breakdown:
      LA Tech: 22-15 (CUSA)
Cal: 19-30 in four seasons (PAC12)
SMU: 30-18 in four seasons (AAC)
TCU: 18-9 in two seasons (B12)
When you look at his stats, this way, it doesn't look bad. Not great, but not bad. But when you look at conference play, with the exception of 2022, the reality of it starts to hit home:
      LA Tech: 4-5. 6-1, 4-2
      Cal: 0-9, 3-6, 4-5, 3-6
      SMU: 4-4, 6-2, 4-3, 4-4
      TUC: 9-0, 3-6
I love seeing the Frogs do well - under Patterson they were a blast to watch: physical and fast. Fact is, Dykes struggles against good competition and he's a mediocre coach, at best. Seems like a really good guy, but he's not the one to elevate TCU to the next level.
