I haven't gone through any comments but would you tell me about the college and the locality. Also which area would be a good option for us to rent a apt?
@chadzorz Every neighborhood was old at one point, most of the other ones have simply fixed themselves up, and rebuilt. They, unlike a large part of the NE, care about their homes.

@@georgfriedrichhandel4390 yeah those are good examples but literally those are the most extreme examples of shit hole whats that tell you about north end.. its just depressing
@@motomissle Friend, it is not my intention to minimize the conditions in the north end. I'm sure they are indeed very depressing. And while we should not make a competition out of human misery, we should try to keep things in perspective. According to Statistics Canada, Winnipeg has the second-highest murder rate in the country. On the surface, that sounds frightening until you see the actual numbers. Winnipeg's pre-covid murder rate was around 6.25 per 100,000, well over the national rate of 1.8 per 100,000. But if we compare that to some cities in the United States then that number isn't so scary. American's most dangerous city, St. Louis, had a murder rate of 65 per 100,000 in 2019 (ten times the rate for Winnipeg). The second-most dangerous city, Baltimore had 58 per 100,000. In fact, the major US city with the lowest murder rate is Hampton, Virginia (ranked 65th). Guess what its murder rate is? 11 per 100,000 - almost twice what it is in Winnipeg. Now don't get me wrong. One murder is too many and these numbers mean nothing to the families of murder victims. But when your second-most dangerous city has fewer murders than our 65th most dangerous, you begin to understand that Winnipeg is not as bad as many people think.
I lived in the North End most of my life and still do, I also lived in River Heights, Charleswood, and Meadows West also travel everywhere and there are far worst places all over North America, Asia,Central America and Europe.....The one thing that makes the North End Weak is the NDP Party has been in power far to long and really don't care Judy WL, George H, Doug M, The NDP will never be able to bring the dollars, program and services needed
i like the video, the northend was a winnipeg gem, it just had a shadow gov praying on the people. i'm sure i would of fell over dead it i seen the whole truth at once, it's justice for the criminals, everyone else pays.
@aaassshhhtttooonnn There's crimes gang's all over winnipeg but this is the area (also my favorite area in winnipeg) the media likes to put on front page !!!
I live here, and it really is a beautiful place to live. Well, it would be if people took care of it. It's not only the littering, it's the people. Most of Winnipeg are criminals, and it makes the good people scared to go anywhere. Down town could be really beautiful and we could be a major tourist stop in Canada, if there weren't smelly lazy bums laying everywhere. If there were less criminals on streets. Some places are great, but downtown, northend and places like this need to be changed.

@chadzorz Every neighborhood was old at one point, most of the other ones have simply fixed themselves up, and rebuilt. They, unlike a large part of the NE, care about their homes.
whats the name of the first song?
And to think i went from living in a 2 bedroom apartment with my mom in the northend to living in a 6 bedroom house on the south side
haha my uncle Vernon is in the wheelchair 1:17
What a total fucking dive. The north end used to be vibrant and full of life, but now it's become a third-world country.
@leafsrule08 Where do you live?
I will always love the North End because that 's where my Grandmother lived and I miss her.
where is that at @0:36 ?
lol..my old house in one of those pics..every shot in that video I've been to lol...
And its worse now in 2020.
a rake and a can of paint would help
what is that first song that you only have 32 sec of ?
Prairie town, check description :)
+Jordy Lesy
ok I did not time it but there is more then 32 seconds of prairie town there. I meant the song before prairie town thanks though
aww i dont care wut anyone says i miss winnipeg
i was born and raised in the north end and i luv going to visit... i reconized every picture in this video
still better than anywhere in the south US. The south has the lowest income and worse crime
Nice job I love what you have done with the place, if you were going for the reserve look you fucking nailed it.
they say vancouvers lower east side is the poorest postal code in Canada...after watching this vid iam wondering if that's true....how much worse can it get. this is what happens when an area is financially neglected for decades and other parts of the city are not. and this is in canada
my opinion financially neglected??!! Gtfoh it's the residents. unemployed, welfare warriors that contribute nothing!
@mommy0179 i live there for a while and I actaully that place! LOL...And did you notice some of the pictures in this video isnt even in the northend either? Well, enjoy yoru sunday! :P
Man these pictures are old . I think it's the 1970 it has changed but yet still the same?
beautiful photographs thank you for posting
How can you be proud of a neighborhood that everyone litters?
Funny because I don't use Listerine, don't smoke cigarettes or don't care about government handouts. You're a real genius. Mr.know it all.
Throw garbage all over the streets and sidewalks, urinating against buildings. Passing out in the bus shelters. If this was my land I'd treat it far better and have some pride in it . Talk is cheap.
I just took two leaks on Mainstreet yesterday, did you see me? 😆
ever watch the show shameless? lol based out of Chicago but easily could be filmed in the peg
do you find if someone refers to you as 'native'?? cause I used the word a little while ago and some basically chastised me for it.......just curious......thanks
Nostalgic Video and terrible how Winnipeg is at the same time
bills place is awesome hes a cool dude
damn they showed my house
crazy its like that but its like that still butwe are evolving no dout
Hey Bgarbacz can you tell me the name of that track 'Living in Winnipeg' you used at the beginning of the vid and the name of the band that did it? Much appreciated if you'll let me know.
Aboriginal Funeral Home...Have a few opinions about that Fuckin' place @ 3:13 minute mark.
what a depressing area !
Not at all. The kids; teenagers rummaging through junk yards stealing and reselling for some pocket money; the family picnics. In a word, SOUL...
Winnipeg is a depressing city, PERIOD.
Very depressing.and it's only getting worse so I'm told.im glad I left
@@normanthomas9065 Ive had alot of my friends and girlfriends, and a brother and parents leave this horrible city, now Im finally leaving, you made the right choice!
Shut up!
Inkster St. Elem. 1958-61 Anyone out there?
Hands down worst place on earth a true hell god help anyone who lives in that depressing shit hole
I can think of many worse places to live. Flint Michigan, San Francisco's Tenderloin District, Philadelphia's Kensington Avenue and Halstead St. in Chicago immediately come to mind. And then there's Haiti, the favelas in Rio and Soweto.
But when your second-most dangerous city has fewer murders than our 65th most dangerous, you begin to understand that Winnipeg is not as bad as many people think.
i'm from winnipeg...the video made the north end look a lot better than it actually is...i think you were trying to show the bad side tho?
I lived in the North End most of my life and still do, I also lived in River Heights, Charleswood, and Meadows West also travel everywhere and there are far worst places all over North America, Asia,Central America and Europe.....The one thing that makes the North End Weak is the NDP Party has been in power far to long and really don't care Judy WL, George H, Doug M, The NDP will never be able to bring the dollars, program and services needed
Born in the NE, lived on Luxton 'til I was maybe 3 years old. Moved to the South End and it fucking sucks. But how would I know, right?
i like the video, the northend was a winnipeg gem, it just had a shadow gov praying on the people. i'm sure i would of fell over dead it i seen the whole truth at once, it's justice for the criminals, everyone else pays.
What is the first song?
@aaassshhhtttooonnn There's crimes gang's all over winnipeg but this is the area (also my favorite area in winnipeg) the media likes to put on front page !!!
The north end declined in the 70s
WHY ARE THEY LETTING THE NORTH END OF WINNIPEG BE A LOST AREA ,,,,,,LIKE THE POOR NEED A PLACE TO LIVE ARE THEY TRYING TO SAY ,
I'm thinking about becoming a Police Officer in Winnipeg. I knew Winnipeg has its problems but I had no idea it was this bad!
At 0:30 my Grandmother and Grandfather used to live right next to the house on the right.
I grew up in the North End and it didn't look like that everywhere.
Sharon Stewart no some places were far worse you are right
the pictures should have been taken in the summer time. it's the pics that make it look dumpy. my opinion
Kelly Borushynski it is dumpy! I've lived in manitoba for 30 plus years the north end is a uncontrollable dumpster fire
heyy it's my old house 0:48
missin the north side .... |: whatta thing to miss
What's up (:
Home to only about 95 per cent of Winnipeg's crime activity.
@ReidHarris7
yep. It's true. Although I live on Inkster too. Its nice here.
