I am so happy that your enjoying Carnival. Many people can get in the habit of saying non flattering comments even if they never sailed with them. But Carnival does have a lot of great amenities. I appreciate your honest and straight forward comments. Great job and enjoy!
I know right. I love carnival more than royal cruise I’ve actually sailed Royal. All I hear is carnival slander and that royal Caribbean is way better from people that have mostly only sailed royal.

I like formal night. Lots of photos. When I’m with a group, we choose a group color and wear that to dinner one night also. We get group t shirts and have a pic taken usually on the grand staircase. It’s a lot of fun.
I always found myself staying up and doing a lot more later into the night when I sail Carnival. I would love to have been on the Paradise-these older, smaller ships are great. Glad you are enjoying it and yes-the food is pretty darn good

I was shocked last May by how good the food was on the Paradise. We were on it 6 years ago and it wasn’t so big improvement. We are going again late November and I see they have the same main stage show.
Food overall is very good on Carnival. People complain about it because they are programmed to do so. It's like those who diss Smirnoff because it's affordable while they praise more expensive vodka that tastes like rubbing alcohol.
I never had a bad meal on Carnival, either. I never had a good meal on NCL. Carnival has something going on as long as you can stay awake It seems there’s always some guy in a kilt on formal night.

Carnival does have some gems on the menu. The 80’s show had great songs. Set was dope but execution is… Glad you had a great time. Dan was funny and he took risks.
Just got off this boat this morning. CO-SIGN on the comedians!!!! Actually had about 3 different people try to heckle the headlining comedian on the first night. He. DId. Not. Hold. Back. The comedy show turned into something else all together, but everyone but those 3 surely had a really good time. Food is proper. Everything is great but the premium internet package. It's sucks. Otherwise a really really good time.
I love the Paradise, it's just home to us loyal 4 day trippers out of the BEST AREA TO LIVE (ST PETE)..... Carnival is getting a bad rap due to all the vlogers, but I have sailed on them all and Carnival always feels like home!

"Definately better than MSC". From what I've heard about MSC I'm not sure how much of a compliment that was. LOL On my one time cruising on Carnival though in 2009 I did enjoy the food. The fine dining was upscale steakhouse quality and the buffet was better than the best buffet I'd ever had before. That was partially due to the incredibly diverse selection on the buffet. I'm retired now and have a cruise scheduled on the Valor in 17 months and am looking forward to it.
Say what you will about some of Carnivals shows. I appreciate that they keep them fairly short, so A) they can be done more than once a night, B) it adds some flexibility with timing for dinner/other activities. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed watching Mamma Mia on the Allure when I sailed on her, but that also meant if there was another limited availability activity I wanted to take part in that particular night, I wouldn't be able to due to being locked into another show. Both style of shows/entertainment have their purpose and place.
Jay - we saw the rock show in the Legend in September. Normally we are meh about the entertainment. But the cast on the Legend blew us away. We were so surprised how amazing they were. I think the material is good it just depends on the cast for that ship. Do they mesh well and are their voices amazing.
A few key thought from this video: 1) The food looks fantastic - I've never known what to expect of the food from Carnival as nobody really talks about it (in either a positive or a negative light) 2) Good to see people seem to make a real effort on the 'formal night' here - I often find American lines can be waaaaay more casual and relaxed than what we're used to here in Europe, but it looks like your fellow cruisers really went for it!
When I was working the ships years ago, we had at least 2 formal nights each week. One was black tie which meant a full tuxedo, one night required a white dinner jacket tuxedo combination. It was really nice to se everyone dressed up and was certainly of a different time. Things just aren’t the same now.
We wear casual clothes most of the time. Why not wear something more dressy on Captain Night? By doing so we are honoring the person behind our adventure days , and nights. I personally think our Captain deserves it.
Just came back from the Valor on Monday. If you have your first two shots and vaccination card then there’s no testing. You only have to take a test if you have not been vaccinated. They recently just dropped the mask mandate for crew members, they don’t have to wear a mask if they don’t want to.
I wonder if the Scotsman/Irishman wore that kilt the "proper" way??? When I lived in Irela d for a year, I saw lots of Irishman wearing their kilts at the bars/pubs/clubs and they would wear no underwear. They flashed the crowds lots of times after the pints started flowing.😮😮😅😊
You know, you could always capture the footage of the food and do a voiceover later. This way being less disturbing to the couple you didn't want to bother. (No need to capture the voice along with the footage 100% of the time... maybe one day I will run into you on one of these ships ... will be going Carnival in April so we will see hahaha)

We sailed Carnival once. We had the top suite on the ship and had zero real benefits for putting out that money. We do RCL and NCL now
