    Synopsis
Vincent Vega (John Travolta) and Jules Winnfield (Samuel L. Jackson) are hitmen with a penchant for philosophical discussions. In this ultra-hip, multi-strand crime movie, their storyline is interwoven with those of their boss, gangster Marsellus Wallace (Ving Rhames); his actress wife, Mia (Uma Thurman); struggling boxer Butch Coolidge (Bruce Willis); master fixer Winston Wolfe (Harvey Keitel) and a nervous pair of armed robbers, "Pumpkin" (Tim Roth) and "Honey Bunny" (Amanda Plummer).

Not a big deal but, if I’m correct, the characters of Jules & Vincent had only recently met, maybe even that day on the way over to meet Marsellus’ young partners. You can also kinda tell in 2 parts I noticed where Jules tells Vincent to back off because, ‘he’s getting a lil pissed’ getting clowned about giving him a foot rub and in Jimmy’s bathroom after Vincent bloodies up the towel. Jules tells him that he respects him but not to put him in this position. They both read as 2 “professionals” who are both dangerous but respectful of each other.

The odds of seeing Marcellus were pretty even. He was staking out the apartment with Vincent since Jules had quit and had gone out for coffee, leaving Vincent alone at just that moment. Butch hung around just long enough for all those moments to line up the way they did. If he had left immediately he would have missed Marcellus at the stop light.

Vincent and Marcellus also probably didn't have their guard up, they staked out Butch's place in the highly unlikely event that Butch would return there, just to make sure. They had no idea about the watch and the significance of it, and they must have assumed that Butch had already left town the night of the fight.

What’s in the briefcase? Marsellus Wallace’s soul.
In Greek mythology there is a Greek God named Marsellus and how you “capture” him is to take his soul through the back of his head. If you remember there were some scenes showing the back of Marsellus Wallace’s head and he had a bandaid on the back of it.
That’s because his soul was in the briefcase. 🙂
……but seriously, it was a MacGuffin, just something to move the plot along.
“In fiction, a MacGuffin (sometimes McGuffin) is an object, device, or event that is necessary to the plot and the motivation of the characters, but insignificant, unimportant, or irrelevant in itself.”-Wikipedia

I wish more react channels would do that because they end up missing a lot, especially verbose movies like Tarantino makes. Samuel Jackson has his Damascene conversion and is redeemed from his life as a hitman. Bruce Willis goes back to save Marcellus Wallace when he didn't have to, and is therefore redeemed. Pumpkin and Honeybunny get schooled and are redeemed. Vincent Vega scoffs at all this and gets killed.

I love this movie and how many things spiraled out of it. I always loved that Sam Jackson was catching hell about leaving the game but had he not he would have died with John Travolta but, intended or not, that might not have been the case. Maybe Jackson being there would have saved Travolta. Maybe that whole vignette wouldn't have happened. So there's a universe out there where Zed and his homies are still out there doing their thing. 😶‍🌫️

19:39 Tarantionos stories always start out wholesome and logic and then go OFF the rails! :D it is the same in Resevoir dogs with the "Like a Virgin" story - suddently it is all about BBCs! There is no explanation to what is in the case, Tarantino has said this himself. So its up to the viewer, some people think its Marcellus's soul - and that the plaster on the back of his neck in his first scene is where it was removed from his body. Basically its a plot device, to keep the story moving - its a McGuffin, its not of any importance to the story apart from being a 'thing' that is moving the story along ie gives reasons for characters to be where they are and doing what they are doing - it could be anything, from money, baseball cards or a hat - the object has no real impact only the characters motivations to obtain and keep the case to deliver it, thats the impact.

Tarantino also brought back, Pam Grier in "Jackie Brown". This movie was very consequential. The dialogue tapped into a realistic approach to how people randomly talk to each other. The rearrangement of chronical scenes. This movie made and revamp so many acting careers. Before this movie, Samual L Jackson had no significant roles. This movie recharged Travolta and Bruce Willis’s career. Uma Thurman and Ving Rhames also became a household name after this Classic. This is where it started

This film is a masterpiece of writing!! 34:34 - I know that look you give here, what you are thinking right there...but context matters I think. In that restaurant scene at the end, if you listen closely and look in the background of almost every shot, you will notice that this was one take for the first scene and this final scene of the movie - The robbers doing their bit and Jules/Vincent doing their breakfast are on different tables and are being filmes at literally the same times with different film crews around them!!! You can hear Jules and Vincent in the background talking in the first scene of the film and vice versa you can hear Yolanda and her BF talking in the background as Jules says he wants to walk the Earth and all that in that scene! You also can see both the robbers and Jules/Vincent in the background if you look carefully! I have had that wallet for 20 years!! Still have it today, love it so much!!!

With the drug overdose scene... A lot of people seem to miss the fact that Vince was shooting Heroin and that what he had in his pocket was pure heroin that needs to be "prepped" like at his friends place (bent spoon and fire and stuff before injecting)
MIA , a coke-head, accidentally discovers a packet in Vinces pocket which she "Mistakenly" thinks is Cocaine .
So apparently when you snort pure heroin = Overdose.
Also as a side note Vinces drug friend mentions that only an idiot wouldnt know the difference (Or something like that) , Probably not fair to Mia , she just honestly didnt know..I knew she had Heroin the first time I saw this movie(but I didnt know that snorting it would do that-)
This was a great scene. When I saw this at the movies in the 90's some guy screamed about his girlfriend who passed out of something when Vince stabbed her with the needle. Shocked us all in the theater.

Great reaction to one of my favorite Tarantino movies. This one only gets better uopn repeat viewings. You pick up on a lot of little things. For instance:
Marsellus was close to Butch's house because he had gone out to get coffee and donuts while Vincent waited at Butch's apartment. Since Jules had retired already it was Vince and Marsellus that went to the apartment.
Vincent is on the toilet a few times because heroin caused constipation. In fact that ended up killing him.
We assume that Mia and Vincent won the twist contest, however if you listen closely later in the movie you hear a new report that the trophy had been stolen. So they actually lost and then stole the trophy
