My advice as a former ‘69 Charger owner. Since it runs already, go ahead and restore the interior that includes replace any floor sheet metal. Also, make sure the gas tank is free of holes and if your electric system is working good then you’re good to go and enjoy the car. Make other repairs as you go. I wish I would’ve done that with my Charger instead of leaving it in a state of disrepair for 7 years.
Personally, I find the 70 more to my liking. It is cool that 68 & 70 were the only 2 years that didn't have a center split in the grill. 68 will always be recognized as a top design worldwide - but 70 was the year that options & colors really stood out. Enjoy!
It might not be perfect, but it's a real 68' Charger and it's all yours. Congrats man. Many people just have to dream about their dream car and never get it. Of course it's none of my business, but if you're on a budget, I'd leave it as a small block. You can get way more horses for way less money with a small block.
