This is my favorite of Strings songs.... if not the favorite song of all time! This takes me back to March 2003... Msuharraf's rule was setting some things in the right direction, Lahore was decorated in Spring colors and flower baskets, thanks to Kamran Lashari, India was going to play Pakistan in a cricket series, foreign tourists were spotted walking on mall road, had just got this new album from Strings. It was a beautiful sunny and breezy day in Lahore. It had rained in the morning so every place was clean and vibrant with colors. I was driving to hall road to check out some new computer gadgets, from New campus bypassing the canal road and taking the streets within garden town. I was in my beat up Suzuki FX with the windows down and Strings Dhani blasting on my stereo tape player in car. Cool fresh breeze filling the car. There was s small roundabout within those garden town streets.... and I missed my turn a couple of times because I was listening to this song and making airplane with my right hand out the window..... I drove around that round about 3 times..... a certain sense of happiness and positive vibes.... that is my happy place ever since. This is what this song means to me.
I literally feel jeoalus of Pakistan to have such a band like strings.! Their lyrics, composition and voice everything is just worth appreciating. Hope to see them performing in India anytime!
I am hurt! Strings was the best thing to ever happen to our music industry! But still kudos to them for making music that brought joy and peace to all of us! They have been there for us through good and the bad times! ♥️
Coming here today, 3 years after I dropped a comment that resonated with people on both sides of the border... Strings disbanded today. All good things must end, that's what they say. Fact is, Strings will never end, never ever. We'll carry it through this century we promise, and beyond, jaana hai nadiya k paar! ❤️ Thank you guys, thank you so much for a musical childhood, I can literally smell, see, and taste things with your music, thanks, thank you so much for everything.

This is not only a song, its an medicine to bring back all the flash backs of 2000s. Pakistan Cricket where Wasim Akram along with other legends played. There were no mobile phones we still played outside along with our childhood friends. Technology was never so advanced to increase the pace of life. Politics was somewhat stable even though it was a dictatorship. Families watched TV together. Most of grandparents were alive and norms and traditions were still pure and alive. Alot has changed now.💔💔💔
So back in the days when this came out as a part of their album 'Dhaani', it never got a video for quite some time if I remember correctly. I was a kid and even back then I would wonder why isn't this song a video song? Of course I didn't understand budget, marketing, etc. but still, I had this song on my mind for a really long time. So once I bought a cassette (I used to save for cassettes) and made my peace with the fact that there's no video for this number. Heard the album over and over and over again, along with Jal. But then, one fine day, on MTV I guess it was, I saw the video for 'Mera Bichda Yaar' and it brought relief more than anything. What I loved was that they kept it so simple that it did not ruin the song for me in any way. Just wanted to share this story with everyone... it was like a dream come true for a little kid, having a video for the song you loved so much. God we all miss Strings, and real music, fuck war man, Indo-Pak collaborations and cultural exchange was simply amazing, it finally looked like everything was going good for our countries until our governments pissed all over it AGAIN. We're all part of the hypocrisy now, abusing each other whenever we get the chance, even me... but deep down the people of both countries wish for peace. Fuk those who call me a pacifist, nobody should die for political vendettas, especially when we can create things so beautiful that transcend generations. I'm 26 now and I swear I'm sharing all these numbers with my son/daughter no matter what. He/she deserves real music.

Guess we just separated by a border and politics..Bands like strings helps us understand that somehow..we are one..just on opposite sides of the border...respect from india..and peace to everyone in Pakistan
I came here to listen to this song after Strings announced that they will be concluding their band. Thank you for everything ❤️ Like seriously Thank you. Thankyou for giving countless memories and an amazing childhood. You were my happy place. Thank you ❤️
You guys composed the songs, every 90's kid cherishes for they make us remember our high school love stories! make us remember the faces that made us realise the adolescence. Value of memories always rises with time. I remember DD national afternoon Indie Pop shows, a genre which perhaps, is extinct now. Good times those were. Numberless music shows on countless channels today seldom generates a song appealing to my emotions in the way dhaani or duur did.
I still remember in 2009 i got a CD(named "Pakistani band") from a senior... Dhani was(still is) my fav album from that CD... Its 2019... A decade passed... But still love this album love this band.. Lots of love from India

30 years of Strings my all time favourite band since my 8-9th call) 2005-6 may be but till now 2018 I'm really loving your songs, music lyrics passion this one is such a master peace with a very deep meaning between two friends... Huge love and respect from India....
I am passing brilliance of Pakistani pop music on to my next gen, my 6 and 4 year old absolutely love it. Another way to keep them away from crappy bollywood music :)
Ye song hume yaad dilata hai apne dosto ki ,apne family ki ,apne rishtedaro ki ,jisse hum ab duur rahne lage hai, The most inspiring and underrated song of Strings.
Been listening this song million times since 15 yrs....still liking it very much...such a melodious music...soulful voice.... never knew that its Pakistani band till now. as its very famous in India. Love from India!
Ah. Mera bichraa yaar. Ah, the decades gone by, they sailed through the sea of showbiz, with simplicity being performed by the 'fall in love again' tenor and the high but heart wrenching pitch. They never took themselves seriously, which is how they dealt with the glitz and glam, with, fame at this level, with all Strings humility intact, with Maqsood and Kapadia first becoming teen idols, then coming of age with their 2000 comeback from very 'Dur'. One of the comments down their really made me think, yes, we experienced life, the highs, the lies, lows with you guys playing at the back, telling us it's all gonna be fine again since Strings is so good at keeping it cool and casually, melodiously, remenisce of everything, every one who came and went, they never let our hands go. Fashion icons, exceptional pop-musicians, a household name,, humble people (these are the kind of heroes one can meet and hold a conversation with), lovely stage presence, with Bilal jumping up and down in a corner with his back to the madding crowd, red shoes and those chilled as fuck eye wear, Kapadia's immediately recognizable croon, the distinct Strings melodies, soon to become distant but still playing in our hearts. Keep walking guys. And thank you for a wonderful journey.
My estranged lover I found the one who stole away The sleep from my eyes Far away there's a village, coolly shaded There flow many streams. Must cross the stream Wait for me, my estranged lover, my estranged lover Wait for me, my estranged lover, my estranged lover The path that has been trodden, the shadows fading away My lips were about to reveal what was in my heart He wants me too, the lovestruck fool was about to say Wait for me, my estranged lover, my estranged lover Wait for me, my estranged lover, my estranged lover
This guy's were ahead of times. It's much more better then nowadays songs of YOYO, NEHA and Tony and many others. This song is still fresh and will be.
This video is so beautiful, it defines all teenage era and impact of music in our homes and personal rooms, low tinted lights, the effect vinyl discs , guitar , speakers behind gives such a 2000s vibes , brings a lot of my teenage and school memories back ❤
Im wondering even without this much technologies/advanced mixing process, how nicely songs were mixed and produced. Just listen the bass/synth sounds and flute part !
India me rehta hu .. na to salman khan se milna h or na shahrukh khan se ...but aapse milne ki ichha bhot h ...salute ...or kya dosti h aap dono ki ...misal ho aap

Ye song hume yaad dilata hai apne dosto ki ,apne family ki ,apne rishtedaro ki ,jisse hum ab duur rahne lage hai,
The most inspiring and underrated song of Strings.

Love it may 30 2022 ♥️
Bilal has one of the most sweetest voice.
One of the comments down their really made me think, yes, we experienced life, the highs, the lies, lows with you guys playing at the back, telling us it's all gonna be fine again since
Strings is so good at keeping it cool and casually, melodiously, remenisce of everything, every one who came and went, they never let our hands go.
Once in 25 years you get music like this
Just saw bilal maqsood's podcast on junaid akram's channel! Really missing strings ❤️

Miss this kind of music. They should come back.
It's a pleasure to see how many people are still listening to this song :)
One of the markers of the change in the direction of winds in the Indian Subcontinent music scenario!
Came back here after their performance in pepsi battle of bands season 3.
Love you always

Strings my childhood craze
Just reading Indians fans comments and enjoying.
From Lahore Pakistan
My estranged lover
I found the one who stole away
The sleep from my eyes
Far away there's a village, coolly shaded
There flow many streams. Must cross the stream
Wait for me, my estranged lover, my estranged lover
Wait for me, my estranged lover, my estranged lover
The path that has been trodden, the shadows fading away
My lips were about to reveal what was in my heart
He wants me too, the lovestruck fool was about to say
Wait for me, my estranged lover, my estranged lover
Wait for me, my estranged lover, my estranged lover
Wow.. Just gave an exact and proper rendition to a beautiful gem of a song
It's kary mera intazar not karain mera intazar. So it should be waiting for me instead of wait for me.
Are these the English lyrics translated for this song?
Beautifully translated
Thanks a bunch!
they've dissolved the band, but their legacy will never dissolve. Thank you for everything.♥️
One of the best songs and MVs!! Strings was an awesome band! Nowadays almost no band/singer can match the legend that was Strings. 💕
Both of them are looking sooooo coollll😍😍😭😭😭🔥
Strings -Awesome....miss these two legends of indipop
umair khan basically there is no genre such as Indipop ... so they are Pop artists and brilliant ☺
Indipop means independent pop not Indian pop
How can you make these kind of songs. Strings??
Breath taking❤❤❤❤
Even better than most of 99% songs of todays era.
This guy's were ahead of times. It's much more better then nowadays songs of YOYO, NEHA and Tony and many others.
This song is still fresh and will be.
This video is so beautiful, it defines all teenage era and impact of music in our homes and personal rooms, low tinted lights, the effect vinyl discs , guitar , speakers behind gives such a 2000s vibes , brings a lot of my teenage and school memories back ❤
Indian/Pakistani...I see the borders fading away every time I listen to "Strings"! Pure Feeling, long live music! Long live Pakistani Rock!
Borders will never fade we dont want the borders to fade
@@uzairahmed1270 Today I feel yeah fuck y'all 😂
Amazing souls to ever have performed on this planet!
Pakistan, you are lucky to have strings. Zoe also sang it in The Floor and both are good. I am from India and we love it.
To think its been 15 years since the release of this song. Still sounds like it was released in 2018 magic of strings best band in asia no doubt
True fan of strings
Their friendship
This is so beautiful, really shows that you don’t need to understand a language to fall in love with music. Love love it , thanks to Ribs for showing me this. ❤️
