think i watched this when it was recently uploaded. the emotion n melody of it spoke to me enough that i just had to give my early 20ies scuffed best at learning it via tabs a try. i've forgotten most of it unfortch, but the 1st parts still stick (= love listening to Ed play this again after a decade n a half
His playing always makes me remind my youth and love. For that reason, I've watched this video so many times. I am so grateful to be impressed by great musician and such a beautiful arrangement. I hope I'll have a chance to see his real playing.
Terrific arrangement - elegant. This inspired me to try to learn to play it and, while I certainly am nowhere near Ed's level of performance, I was able to learn a respectable rendition. Thanks, Ed!
Ok, it is a very beautifull muisic, well playd. But, camon, this performance can be done by a intermediate student of classical guitar. Long hair is not enough. Good, but nothing special - for guitarists...
trash talking the lack of display of skill/technical prowess on an instrumental COVER of a slow song.... classic internet beautiful interpretation Ed. still tucks at the ol heartstrings. makes me wanna try to learn it again just listening

Just discovered Ed and quickly became an addict...wonderful music....thanks

No one has better tone than Ed Gerhard
Measured and pure

@lockhartER
it's tabbed + standard notation in a book called Fingerstyle Guitar Masterpieces.
nice feel
Wow!!! That is all I can say... Wow! I guess I gotta put the prs down for a while and try to learn some finger style now!
I think you're actually playing When I Survey... LOVED it!
I love this song beauti arr...
thank you!
Love this!
:))
Umm..Brilliant. .
That F#m7 is very difficult to play well, especially getting a clear ring while arpeggiating. Anyone have any tips?
+Michelle Donati
practise my dear
+Michelle Donati Git Gud ! :D
+Dirk Poel Yeh. Thanks? I have found with guitar that practice an incorrect technique can be worse than no practice at all.
+Michelle Donati Don't be afraid, you can't practise F#m7 wrong. Just play it until it'll be ringing clear.
+Michelle Donati Actually F#m7 is much easier to play than F#m (one finger less ;), so don't panic ;)
to me long nails take away a little tone
Then you're doing it wrong.
oh, okay!
