Remco was fading in the last week of the Vuelta? In the last stage that mattered for GC, stage 18, Remco was outstanding and won the race. The only time he lost significant time was after his crash and that was at the end of the second week.
Funny to hear you guys think that Remco will not win, barely even on the podium! But then again, people already said he wouldn't win Liege, Vuelta, World Champs,... Well, everyone's free to have their opinion! I'll go with 1 - Remco 2 - Roglic (if he manages to finish it...) 3 - Almeida It's gonna be a fun race to watch for sure! Looking forward to it!
I love these - but it would be nice to be able to watch them on GCN+ immediately, rather than only on TH-cam for a day or two before it shows up there.
The only thing that will stop Remco is the weather or bad luck in this Giro. He will take significant lead in the TT"s and control the race from that point. But the Giro often has a big surprise so let's see. Just hope all stages, especially in the mountains, are properly broadcasted

Dan, a little subdued in this show (I hope you are doing ok mate), but so articulate about his analysis… given the parcours, this Giro promises to be the race of the year with relatively flat time trials early on and a brutal third week… this could be an epic!!!
@@recrevs963 Egan had displayed potential to be right up there after winning the 2019 TdF, but his subsequent performances, especially when paired against Pog or Rog have not been commensurate. Of course, his terrible injury has something to do with it and it seems unlikely that he will regain that 2019 form.
@@ravi06197 Egan's climbing performances aren't anywhere near the top tier of climbers. All his oppenents in that TdF top 5 are currently domestiques for other GC riders (several not even last dom's on the climbs) or a teammates.

I am a total fan of Jay Vine!! He can power up hills, power along in TTs (Aussie Champ) and can stay with the best in breakaways. Mega shoutout for João Almeida a great guy too, and I would like to throw Jack Haig into the mix. No idea of podium order though. Sprinters; Vendrame, Groves and Pasqualon (all Andorran residents) are well used to climbing and sprinting. I've got Kaden down for 2 stages. As a sprinter he gets over hills better than most.
We all burn enough calories to occasionally indulge in fast food, and let's be fair, it's Pizza Hut. However, if we start seeing riders wearing cigarette brands, then we should start questioning it. Marlboro Pro Tour Team anyone?
something i notice about last years Vuelta is people really underestimate the impact of Remco's fall and how Remco bounced back after a "bad" day and they underestimate how good Mas was. He was the only one who could follow Pogi in Lombardy. And underestimate how good Roglic his form was. he wasn't 100% but if he really was so called 90% no way he would be that close on gc

I appreciate he's not the in the top tier favourites but riders develop at their own rates and Almeida has ridden well this year, everyone keeps banging on about the top 2 riders, that can sometimes go against them because they can at times over mark each other. If you remember the Giro 2019, Carapaz took advantage of both Roglic and Nibali eyeballing each other and ended up winning it overall. Maybe you don't know as much about this sport as you think you do, have a great day

Will the young lads be able to keep the form over whole duration of a Grand Tour, or will they blaze of at the start and fade at the end? We shall see. Due to a small crash he lost about 48 seconds in two of the MIDDLE stages in Sierra Nevada. People forgot bc in that last week Remco had to 'only' battle Mas. But Mas after that Vuelta won the Emilia race dropping Pogi, and in Lombardia was the only one who could follow Pogi. And Remco cracking at the end ??? After the Vuelta he was the only one that flew to the WC, with jet lag and no prep came in third in WC ITT only losing it in the corners by a few sec. Then with some rest a week later he destroyed everyone in the RR WC. So he showed he could be in Top shape for 5 weeks. If you take San Sebastian before the Vuelta he had a spell of 7 weeks. Tactically Roglic still has the advantage & also in the sprint finishes, but Remco is still growing. I say it's about 55/45 chance of Remco over Roglic. Third spot i think Almeida is the most likely candidate

It would be great if remco would win the Giro, so in 2024 tour de france we will see a great battle between pogacar and Remco. In my vieuw remco is the only one who COULD beat pogacar. Pogacar is just the number one in grand tours, he is the man to beat if you wanna win the tour of tours ;-) .

And his name is not pronounced Hess-sink. It is Gay-sink and depending on where you live in the country it is a hard g or a soft g. Considering he is from the eastern part I would say the soft g.
I think Roglic, Geoghan Hart, Almeida for the podium. In reality, who knows with that course and CVD19 raising its ugly head, could be very 2020 again and end up a result no-one could have predicted.

In the last weeks mountain stages riders can loose not just minutes but hours if their recovery is gone.
