I know I promised this series years ago but it's finally here with Monster Hunter World. How did you like the guide and what monster would you like to see next? I also started another series going over tips for MHW, starting with Top 5 Tips for Beginners: th-cam.com/video/ugOLmdwk9Uk/w-d-xo.html
This is the most thorough guide I've seen. Thank you. And I think people will appreciate a guide for tempered Kirin and other elder dragons as well. Subbed!
Something of note: If you find yourself underneath Nerg in a state where you are lying on the ground NO NOT I repeat NO NOT MOVE YOUR STICK, JUST LAY ON THE GROUND, while on the ground you have Invulnerability! He will knock you down, you will be on the ground, he will rear up (it is during this rearing up, if you find yourself stuck laying on the ground where you do not want to move), he will slam down and by the time you automatically stand back up you will have avoided the attack and he will be recovering! Take this time to roll away perpendicular (at a 90 degree angle from him) and most likely heal up from the attack that he knocked you to the ground him! Hope this helps all of you who are hunting Nerg, I learned about this tech from a stream and it is a life saver!
This is a great video, Duncan. I remember watching you live on stream teaching yourself how to beat Nergigante twice essentially (once in the story and the second time when he's a Tempered Elder, capable of doing ridiculous damage) and later when I started playing, having the same issues you spoke about in this video. Things I would like to say 1. As a Gunner, don't take greedy reloads. Nerg's quick across-the-screen jump can get you out of a seemingly safe position when reloading a slower round like Dragon S, unmodified Slice S or Pierce level 3. If using these ammunitions, take the same window you would take for an attack to reload. 2. For players struggeling: The Bazelgeuse armor is really good against Nergigante. Earplugs allows you to sheath your weapon on reaction to Nergigante's big Superman-dive and perform the safety dive with time to spare. And even if you mess up the timing; the Set-skill of the Bazelgeuse armor, which is called guts, will safe you from carting once per hunt.
I just wanted to say thank you for making this video - previously I had tried the quest 5 and died all 15 times, I was going to give up on life and then you saved me with this informative video. I just beat him, although I did die twice but it felt so good. THANK YOU GOOD SIR.
Way to go!!! I appreciate this guide very much! I have already beat Nergigante however extra tips are always interesting to me. The number one, hands down, most enjoyable part of this guide for me is also how you made this different then most all others guides on TH-cam is that you gave advise for all different weapon types!!! This is so good considering most just give a guide based on their own weapon. This is understandable however yours is much more useful for all. Good job and keep up the great MHW videos!
I use the long arrow shoot animation almost exclusively with bows ---> lightning bow + line up lengthwise when he's busy with palico and do the long draw + shoot move - the arrows pierce right through the monster's entire body and do tons of chip damage + crits if you go ododgaron armour.
This is awesome and very in depth thank you. It is very useful how you go through each of the attacks as well as saying where each weapon type should stand.
Did I just hear Duncan, a pillar of the GREED SQUAD, say "Don't get too Greedy?!" WHO IS THIS MANS?! Also, love the video. Can't wait for all of the other monster videos to follow up. Especially Kenny's everlasting nightmare: Diablos.
Normal dodge notes: (for advanced play) You can dodge its claw swipes You can dodge under all of its leaps (for the spikes, make sure you dodge earlier for its spiked versions you can dodge all of its windboxes AND roars You can dodge the very end hitboxes of its dive bomb (but you will probably get hit by the windbox)
wasn't there some special KO factor with him in regards to it being caused by also breaking all of his spikes? Anjanath would be a really good guide as he's pretty wild but also i'd like to know the best way in taking him on with DS while aiming for head breaks and tail cuts for maximum material farming
I go for the body. hit from the side. Try to avoid the 180 swipe. When u go defenseless and he's about to body slam from air or standing, just roll forward. it will do damage but leave you small hp to recover. If he dives from air, do flop jump. When he's limping and go to sleep, I chug some attack and defense juice then hit him hard 420 damage in the head with gs. If he rage, rage run away to the next area. He will not follow, he go back to sleep. Then hit him again hard, and again, run away. This time he will follow you, but you are up attack and defense so fight on defensively, never be greedy. So long post. Just love fighting this monster.
I was so worried I wasn’t any good at this game but after then I found out about how you can heal yourself by attacking that is totally my play style I’m not the best at avoiding but when i combo with dual blades I usually can do it for a solid amount of time now I beat this monster in only 10 minute
Diablo was hard but this is def much harder just getting into the game and I literally cannot get passed hunter level 13 and the first nergigante hunt and all I wanna do is kill this thing man
Nergigante will do that swipe uppercut a lot when I fight him, and when he hits me he always follows up with one of the one-shot ground slams which always catches me because im trying to recover
First run he kicked my ass, god damn. The hardest thing about him for me was the "superman dive." I didn't know exactly what caused other than him having all his spikes being hardened. Is there anyway to avoid that without abusing the panic dive i-frames?
Great guide. One of the few Hunters out here grinding and creating detailed, concise, informative, professional guides. You all deserve much more attention. Question time: on regular Nerg, Lances trivializes him. The Guard Dash (r2+forward+Triangle) neutralizes his Dive Bomb attack. There's no need to sheathe. After the roar stun, you still have time to check your watch and brew a cup of coffee while waiting for Nerg to decide when he wants to meet you for lunch. BUT! Does this still work for Tempered and above? I'm still before the triple Elders point of the story and I'd like to know. Ty.
The pretty much evaporate in a sense, even lvl 3 reduced to 0's. I felt neutered. Heck, the same can be said for kirin's barrier too, but the teostra's encompasses a much wider area.
Looking into it, since you're gunning, grab a weapon for your palico that can apply elderseal, or have some Dragon Shot. That should help give you windows to deny his fire aura if its causing too much trouble. Other than that, try and nail whatever parts stick out past the aura that you can.
Every elder dragon was easy except negi and vaal hazaak, lol Nergi's hitboxes are just weird, from head to toe, rage or no rage, hes a weird man, and vaal hazak's constant smoke and what not
I cannot beat him been trying for days.....I can get him to go to his nest and thats it. When he does he starts spamming that stupid ass dive bomb attack and i can only avoid it so much. Guess i am done with worlds if i cannot kill him i cannot progress
I thought I was gonna do good against him when you face him for the second time on Zorah annnnnnnnnnnd he killed me in 15 seconds......yeah I was not prepared at all

DuncanKneeDeep I would like to see radobaan in this series
Can teo and kushala guides
You must explain the best ways to capture floofbats so we can move them out of the danger zones and into nice safe places for them to live in peace.
Show us how to shoot down a B-52 bomber please.

These detailed guides look like you're putting in a lot of effort, and it's both appreciated and noticed, Great job!

im on my first nerg hunt, and he kicked my ass, this is going to be so much help, thanks alot duncan!
Thanks Duncan! Hunted the first Nergigante today using this guide, I'd carted six times before I found this!
I like your commentary man. Very detailed. Would love to see you do Kirin!
Could you do Teostra? He's a very good boi but I can't consistently hunt him without triplecarting.
SHE!?
Excellent guide for Nergigante! Thank you so much for posting this!
Dives save lives.
I’ve never seen the “Superman Slide” in all the times I’ve fought Nerg... I’m happy to learn about it this way instead of experiencing it myself.
Did I just hear Duncan, a pillar of the GREED SQUAD, say "Don't get too Greedy?!" WHO IS THIS MANS?!

Thank you so much for this, I just beat the nergigante quest and it didn't feel like I barely made it.
What about Kushala Daora? It took me a long time to fight him, and it would be nice to know how to do it faster and easier.
Honestly tempered nerg is the hardest boss imo. That slide is a 1 shot even through vitality mantle and fully augmented and upgraded gear
If he hits you with the uppercut/shoryuken - STAY down, you can avoid his followup, which is often unavoidable if you start to get back up immediately

This is by far my favorite monster to hunt in the game, idk what it is but I just find it so fun.
Hadn't lost any hunt up until this guy I keep losing over and over its horrible, thank you for this guide I hope it helps!
Just tried this guy for the first time... Wow. This thing is amazing.
I was so worried I wasn’t any good at this game but after then I found out about how you can heal yourself by attacking that is totally my play style I’m not the best at avoiding but when i combo with dual blades I usually can do it for a solid amount of time now I beat this monster in only 10 minute
This content is beautiful keep it up!
These guides are great many little things I never noticed I guess I need to watch the monsters more when I hunt
Diablo. I nearly rage quit
Diablo was hard but this is def much harder just getting into the game and I literally cannot get passed hunter level 13 and the first nergigante hunt and all I wanna do is kill this thing man
Your guide is awesome. thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it :)
Thanks for such an in depth guide of his moveset. Much appreciated. Time to finally do that quest then, I guess.
Nergigante will do that swipe uppercut a lot when I fight him, and when he hits me he always follows up with one of the one-shot ground slams which always catches me because im trying to recover
Exactly and if you roll it still hits you
Ooh, very nice.
Tempered Kirin... So many people I saw unprepared for this fight people could really use help with that.
Can you do a black diablos please!
Can we get one for Vaal Hazak?
First time, didn't cart once. You have earned a like. Also charge blade made it easy.
me a charge blade main on my like 10th attempt at finally beating him
@@ForestGreenSharpie do you have full stamina to block his dive bomb? Did you sleep bomb him?
I love these MHW videos
See if I wasn’t at work I’d watch the whole thing but from what I did see I enjoyed. Please do one for Teostra
this video was so good
Did you realise he didn’t mention guides about fighting nergigante using Long sword and similar weapons like that
10:18 you forgot that he also slams his head in the ground
What do I do if I’m using insect glaive?
First run he kicked my ass, god damn. The hardest thing about him for me was the "superman dive." I didn't know exactly what caused other than him having all his spikes being hardened. Is there anyway to avoid that without abusing the panic dive i-frames?
I've actually had a lot of trouble with teostra using sword and shield, and double sword. Even on multiplayer I haven't beaten it.
What weapon are u using? Is that a axe
Great guide. One of the few Hunters out here grinding and creating detailed, concise, informative, professional guides. You all deserve much more attention.

BUT! Does this still work for Tempered and above? I'm still before the triple Elders point of the story and I'd like to know. Ty.
For other monsters to cover why not the other elder dragons
What kind of armor would you recommend?
Great series. Super usefull. My suggestion do a new monster not a returning one. E.g Bazel
Honestly want to see one for teostra, mainly from a bowgunners perspective. Very little a gunner can do about that fire shield.
Pierce Shots don't work? They work for Kushala's wind barrier.
The pretty much evaporate in a sense, even lvl 3 reduced to 0's. I felt neutered. Heck, the same can be said for kirin's barrier too, but the teostra's encompasses a much wider area.

How to beat rathalos solo with a meele weapon
The worst part about this monster is that your teammates die so much and you can't beat it.
What is the guard plus skill I can’t find it😑
what do u do if u use Hunting horn?
Is it only monsters in mh world?
Im using a Diablos hammer ii
Could you do one for charge blade
Vaal Hazaak
1:15 and the insect glaive?
Lunastra please
Any info for the incect glave for this?
I'm probably the only pansy who will ask for this. but a guide to Zeno jiva? I struggle with the laser boi
I cannot beat him been trying for days.....I can get him to go to his nest and thats it. When he does he starts spamming that stupid ass dive bomb attack and i can only avoid it so much.
Guess i am done with worlds if i cannot kill him i cannot progress
I thought I was gonna do good against him when you face him for the second time on Zorah annnnnnnnnnnd he killed me in 15 seconds......yeah I was not prepared at all
Watched this legit killed first try took fuck all damage 23 min 26 sec. Cheers for the vid
on my first hunt he handed my ass to me by uppercutting
Am I really supposed to trust someone who's using a Kirin GL? and is even shelling? The worst GL used in the worst way in MHW?
Solo nergigante LS 2:31
Rathalos
Nergigante more like NERDigante
Wtf. Just beat Nergigante in the first try with one death because I was getting cocky. Diablos is a lot tougher IMO. Weird.
Aka Kaz what weapon?
his not that hard just killed him solo
500 LIKES TO SEE ANGUS' HEAD GET SHAVED
You promised >_>
"slow and deliberate",move set bruh u fr?
Nice I’m early
