If you go to Mission BBQ restaurant they have the missing man table and at 12 noon all food service stops and the national anthem is played.
It is such an honor to go to Mission BBQ where the military, police and firefighters are all represented for their service and sacrifice. We can never thank them enough for what they have done and continue to do. Singing the National Anthem at noon brings tears to my ears and makes my heart swell with pride. This is a beautiful tribute. God bless America 🇺🇸 🗽 !!!
We also have these tables at our VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars), Amvets, and American Legion organizations.
They are open to the public serving food and alcohol.
There is one of these tables set along the wall empty to honor these individuals.
To lose someone in death would be devastating but at least it is a finality to it.
To simply not knowing would be soul-crushing for the lifetimes of the ones left behind.

We must never take the sacrifices they made for granted. Nor should we forget the families and friends who carry the burden of loss or family members who support struggling former POWs. That's exactly why I picked it. People talk about the tomb of the unknown soldier but the numbers of the unknown and the missing are often left out. I hope to see someday my dad's friends finally coming home or being identified. All who serve deserve to be known, returned, and remembered. They are all more than a name on a memorial

Thank you! This is so important to me because 3 people my father knew were listed as missing and presumed dead in Vietnam. Dad served in the navy and thankfully returned safe and sound. One of his friends was finally identified in 2005 and returned to his loved ones and the other 2 are unaccounted for. Someday I hope the families can have closure and their loved one is returned home

Hanoi hilton was a hotel if you compare to the time the french jail us there , much worse are the prison in con dao and phu quoc first run by the french and later south vietnamese/american it the same level as japanese ww2 prison camp , check out punishment in con dao and phu quoc it same shit the japanese did to british and othet allied pow in ww2
