I don't have the pan anymore.
Center sump pan. Stock shape. That’s sounds like a good set up you had 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@@SimpsonsSpeedShop use the milodon 7 qt. center sump. the rear sump might hang too low for a street car unless the torsion bars are most of the way up.the milodon hangs about an inch below the crossmember on my 74 cuda along with the TTI headers.use the crossover tube and polish up the lifter galley.
Sorry man. I am going through the exact same thing with a 440 that I now have a shit ton of money in.
💸 😬😅
Yep, have about $20k invested in my 440/512, going to get it on the Dyno Thursday. Making me nervous with your video. It's amazing the amount of money a person can get wrapped up in just an engine.
Not a good feeling when we find metal particulates in the oil filter. Very sad, but maybe time for a Hemi...
I am dying to know the CAUSE.. The issue with the timing backing down is strange. Maybe the wrong dizzy gear for the cam?? One eating the other??
Stroker, more head work, ET drop. BTW, Hughes Engines has a coated steel gear that won't wear out like bronze.
👍🏻
It’s the bottom end at least that’s what i think it’s a race car ther gonna break once I. A while plus you also drive it on the street so they take a beating but she was going good till whatever the problem is now you will make it faster yet hope it’s not to bad good luck good videos
👍🏻 thanks bro
Joseph...I'm an old pontiac guy but I Love any brand . your car is something 2 be proud of...BTW..you drive it to the track ?
Yep drive there, race, drive home!
I honestly think its time for a trailer. All those street miles seem to be taking a toll on the motor and transmission.
Bummer though half , more than half the fun is driving ! Idk ur probably right but dang it , now I'm bummed !
@@mikesr3407 how many miles is it from home to track and back? But really tho, if you’ve got good oil pressure and your not running hot, then you shouldn’t be causing enough wear to cut life short like this. Just my experience tho from driving street/strip cars. I had a 66 barracuda with a built 340 back in the late 80’s and I was daily driving it and running it on the weekends and it held up fine for both
@@1982MCI yeah he's eluded to stroking this engine and driving it as long as he can but ! Wait a minute , where's he going to put trailer ?
It's just a guess... It may have started with the thrust bearing and went down hill from there... When you take it apart.. check the flexplate for cracks... When you are footbraking at stall speed the line pressure will force the converter forward... Man I hate it for ya... It sux forsure!
Good tips. Thanks bro. Bummer for sure but hey, good excuse for a new build 😅
Great info Andy.👍
Man that sucks I hate to hear you have in troubles but you will get it back going you da man do work son
You know it bro! On it
Are you running a solid roller cam in your engine is so wondering did you use a bronze gear for the distribter. Drive.
No bronze gear not required
Bummer at least the problem is obvious now....
My car has the Dana 60, and I would not choose any other rear end
Given the fact that your timing won’t hold, I’m guessing the distributor gear is getting chewed up.
You could be right
@@SimpsonsSpeedShop X2 on this !! Were you running a bronze distributor gear ? That's a billett solid roller in there correct ?
@@Torquemonster440 no bronze gear. Not required on this comp cam
Hmm.. ok.. hydraulic roller ?
Man that sucks hopefully the damage is not really bad but running low on oil pressure is not good on anything. something wore out and caused it but that engine should've lasted longer than that you hardly made many passes on it.
That sucks 😕 come back better and faster!
👍🏻
Might have wiped a bearing but I'm not sure.
That oil filter didn't look good Sorry to see that happen.
Good time for a stroker?
Yes😀
I know ya don't feel lucky right now but your have horseshoes somewhere....That engine lost 8 pounds oil pressure on the dyno. Something in the top, cam bearings or lifters are not getting enough oil, bleeding off some how. Don't leave us hanging I need to know what happened. And besides those Heads need more cubes anyway. 👍
Just noticed some one before me has the same idea something to cosider
No 60 ft?
That sucks man. Time to stroke that thing!!!
You know it bro. One door closes. One door opens
this is the very reason I don`t drive my car to the track on race day anymore.....
One day I’ll stop. But not yet. New motor time
@@SimpsonsSpeedShop I decided to trailer the car to the track after spinning a rod bearing on the way home from the track..... good luck with your build
@@SimpsonsSpeedShop how many miles is it from home to the track offhand ?
Well shit. That sucks man.
Steve Magnante did a drag test Dana vs 8 3/4 in his personal 67 Dart GT, you might want to look it up
It's ok Raymond he's officialy going to run the Dana and mail me 8:75
Ouch! that stinks!
Yes. But good time for upgrades
Pretty short track
Wow that sux. Keep us posted on what's going on. Sorry man........
Yep will keep posted and big things coming thanks bro
We can rebuild it .... better , stronger, faster. ( cue 6 million dollar man theme music) cha na na na na 😊
Time to work a little over-time? ;-)
Yes.
