Nice little portable kayak. I do some sea fishing from a sit on top kayak. A couple of pointers : anchor from the bows, wear a life jacket, stay seated for safety. Great to access those hard to get to places.
That's smart Dan, I've had a couple of inflatable kayaks for 10+ years now, still going strong, never had any issues at all with them, used them on the sea and everything, that looks very stable and that little outboard spot on. Looks like a very good investment, would definitely come in handy in some of the drains I fish, banks ar just to steep on most areas to even fish
I've been kayak fishing for years now (viking reload) and I'd suggest you wear a PFD when your on your new vessel. Also and its just observation is I wonder how easy it would be to get back into if you fell in on a lake or large body of water. Interesting offering from Savage gear. Make sure you do your very best to not get hooks stuck into the material, may not be as robust as you think. All the best with it and tight lines.
When fishing, take the pump with you ! we used to have a rubber duck that leaked so much you needed two people to get ashore one to row, one to pump for dear life !
Hey Dan a huge time saver and great little investment would be a double action handpump like the one Intex makes. I do a lot of inflatable craft fishing be it from my raft or my float tube and I'm really happy with having switched over from foot pumps to a double action pump, job gets done in 10 pumps not even kidding. Enjoy the E-yak it looks preem 🤘
Plenty of comments regarding life jackets, but even with a life jacket/PFD you will be in serious trouble if you fall in during the colder winter months from hyperthermia. I would really advise purchasing a dry suit. I know someone who fell off his kayak in the river in the winter and if it wasn't for him having a friend close by to help and his car close by (to warm up) he would have been in serious trouble. He thought he was going to die through the cold.
Real nice job I have been fly fishing the loughs and rivers in north and south of Ireland but wanting to buy a boat for a year now. I want something lightweight and have to admit the savage gear high rider looked my best option until this wee beauty came along. I am 6 foot 2 and 15 stone so stability and build quality is a must. This looks the business. Thanks for sharing. I liked and subscribed. Tight lines.
So glad you’ve got one. Next stunner I’m wanting one! Awesome vids to follow! Loch awe and Loch Lomond! Here we go! All the best for the new year! Watp
Trolling dead baits beneath a float is a good method, with paddles or electric motor. The fish slowly rolls in the wash of the boat, and you can cover a lot of water. Remember to connect the float top and bottom or it'll get dragged under.
I have 2 of them, and I love them. But referring to them as "kayaks" is not a service to anyone looking to buy one. They're great with a motor. They even make great stand-up-paddleboards. But they don't paddle with anywhere near the same efficiency as a kayak. Anyone who buys one thinking they're going to paddle it like a kayak will be sorely disappointed at the low speed and massive effort it takes to paddle them. That said, I love mine for what they are. A great way to get on the water, only use up a little closet space, and very easy to transport in the trunk or back seat of the car.
Ahoy there! Just for info. the 'oars' are known 'paddles' and the 'seats' are known as 'thwarts'! Good luck Sailor! Looks good fishing low down on the water!
Nice kayak.. But I prefer my dinghy, as its much wider and gives you more stability 😁. I would recommend to get the kayak into the water, then add the motor&battery. All that weight pressing at the back could lead to a puncture. At 0,9 is not that thick, and even a sharp stone could damage it. I've got wheels on my dinghy, to help me getting across the fields Enjoy fishing 🎣🎣
@@martybousum1010 I was just about to suggest that before I read your comment. I've never had any trouble with specific types of hook more if they're deep set or not. I had a big pike almost swallow whole my frog lure when it attacked it but got it out in the end with some long pliers.
Looks really good. Savage gear make some great products. I myself just invested in my first lure fishing setup from savage gear and for the price I can’t complain just need to get out on the river to use it
Thanks, Is the tail fin necessary? seems like it would catch grass and other obstacles. Also the water to where I fish in my pontoon gets to be 1ft deep.

Hi Dan, great vid I'm torn between the high rider, or this E rider. Could you let me know what trolling motor you used and price? I would be using it for bass fishing, so estuary's and close coastal fishing. Cheers Graham.
Mate you need to tie the anchor at the bottom and a weak zip tie to the top that way if your anchor snags you bust out the zip tie and your anchor comes up backwards!
Cracking boat mate. Off course a bit but that net looks good too, I've got a savage gear folding net and the holes are still pretty narrow especially when trebles get near it 😭
Hi nice gear can you make a video how to register this boat , where from get insurance , Boat Safety Scheme (BSS) certificate or how much it cost permit to use on the different waters , thanks
Bin that foot pump and get yourself a 3ltr double action pump, about a tenner from go outdoors or the range. You'll cut the inflation time down loads. I can pump my float tube up in no time with one
@@pikeandperch that's one drain I've not fished, driven over it a few times and stopped for a look. Had a few good fish from the river close by. A fly rod will be ideal for that drain though. Funnily enough someone once suggested dropping the float tube on it.
Swap these crocodile beaks for proper terminators. And use wing nuts to tighten them to the battery connections. AND more important; USE PROPER FUSES (40 or 50 Amps) IN CONJUNCTION WITH HIGH POWER BATTERIES

Agree. In summer on slow moving rivers etc. it's probably OK. Otherwise I really wouldn't fancy it.
