When you think about it, this song tells a COMPLETELY different story than the one told in the game. THIS is the story of someone who is sad and angry and who has lost everything and is isolated and lashing out at everything and everyone. If only that were the true story...
The theme mostly reflects on episode shadow. He lost his squad and was humiliated by the same guy who took down his people. He swore himself that he will come back stronger and show what he's really made of and have everyone fear him. The problem here is that he didn't have beef with shadow at all for some reason in the main game. And you know what? If they continued using the episode shadow back story, it would work amazingly where he captures and torments sonic and monologs on how he is proving himself that he's not weak and has all the power thanks to the ruby. Sonic would then say that even with all that power he has, him destroying everything to prove something is a sign of weakness like a scared animal trying to act tough. He will also say that he's a coward hiding behind the ruby.

He's just written like a generic bully with no context on WHY he is a bully in the main story. It is at the very least implied (even more so because this is the case in the comic canon) that Shadow straight-up murdered Jackal Squad. Infinite lost the only people in the world he cared about. Pushing him towards this path of anger and hostility. "I've only become what I am because of you." - Sounds like someone blaming his own actions on the actions of another.
