OMG the bed hand licking story lives RENT FREE in my brain too! Just found your channel & I am really enjoying it! So awesome you are a children's librarian, that was almost my career path until I found TH-cam :) Keep up the great work!
Cameron I have been watching your videos for 10+ years! I always wanted to collect horror books and seeing your channel and watching it grow made me want to be a collector too. Yours blows mine out of the water but I have almost everything besides the scarcest hard to find antique books featured in Paperbacks from Hell by Grady Hendrix and all of those authors bibliographies and a lot of popular horror fiction from the 70's-90's specifically. Not as much 2000s and '10s but there's still a lot. Thank you for being a content creator and sharing your love of horror fiction with us. Whenever you upload I drop everything if I'm able to and sit back and enjoy the show. I'm so proud of you becoming an author and I've collected (I think) every physical copy of media you've written. Just wanted to tell you how much your channel means to me Cameron.
Thanks, Cameron, for taking us along on another adventure!! Always puts a smile on my face 😄 Do you think you'll do another apartment tour? Loved the last one you did a while back.
Thank you, Kandi! I’m glad you enjoyed it 😁 Thanks for asking! I’m planning on moving before too much longer, so maybe after I’m set up in a new nest, I’ll film a little tour. :)
Thanks for sharing your haul, Cameron. Pleasure to watch your infectious excitement for collecting, as always 🎉 You really had a lifted, genuine energy in this one! Thanks, again.
Hi Cameron! Your videos are so comforting for me, they always make me happy and feel warm and cozy inside. Anyways, you started my YA horror collection! I bought 6 Christopher Pike Books, Sunburn & Blind Date by R.L Stine, The Waitress by Sinclair Smith (I might be wrong) and many more. Thank you!
So many amazing books!!!!! It is my dream to go book shopping at some of the local places near you!!! You always find awesome stuff 🎉🙌 thanks for taking us with you on your book shopping adventures! Awesome video 🤩 as always
I read that Judy Blume book so many times as a teen! Along with the sequel. It’s a duology. Dunno if they hold up now but I used to love them. lol also read a lot of Nancy drew i own maybe 12 of those yellow hardcover editions.
Indeed! The Kill River books by Cameron Roubique are my go-to. I also love Fat Camp by James Sabata. For a non camp read, Paradise Club by Tim Meyer rules!
It can be risky! That’s why I try to go to used bookstores with low prices and always have restraint when I find something out of my price range. A less-expensive copy will always turn up. :)
Omgosh I remember the "hand licking" story! Yesss, that story was terrifying haha. I have that Minnow Vale book. I found it at a Goodwill iirc, and got it mainly for the cute retro cover. I need to give it a read! Awesome video as always, Cameron!
Loved the video and nice book haul! When you were showing The Chessmen of Doom, I said aloud to myself, "I really like that cover. Reminds me of Edward Gorey and the Mystery intro on PBS when I was a kid." And then you said it was him. I love his illustrations too and have a book on his artwork.
Hey creep!! I've gotta tell ya you've also inspired me, after reading Autumncrow high, to start writing again. I gave writing up 10 years ago...but after reading the first sentence I couldn't put the bk down. Amazing writing, I must say!!! I can't wait for the next book!!! And Bc of this video I began reading more Nancy Drew bks!. So thank you my friend!
Wow, thank you so much for saying this! It’s very encouraging to hear that my own writing and videos can be encouraging to others. I’m so glad you enjoyed Fresh Hell! 👻🎃
Ive been awaiting your next video !!! By the way autumn crow is awesome I got it! Loved burnt brownies!! So sad and yet sooo well written, draws me in can't wait to read more and get Autumncrow High!!! Great job!
I just want to give a big thank you for all the interesting books your hauls introduce me to! I've discovered dozens of books through your channel and read some amazing ones because of them! Keep up the good work Cameron, your channel rocks!
I didn't know about the Cincinnati warehouse! Thank you for that. We always go to the Ohio Bookstore down there which is a giant store with four floors. I haven't had too much luck at the Dollar Book Warehouse but I think we're hunting for different kinds of books (besides adult horror but like you said, not that impressive) . My wife has gotten a bunch of the more obscure kids horror books there though so I see why you like it. Not sure if you've been to Bonnetts lately but I've seen some lesser known kids horror books and they definitely have a small grip of adult horror.
Hey man! I went to the Ohio Bookstore last year. Cool place, but I didn't really find much. I haven't been to Bonnett's in years (those weird hours!), but the last time I was there I found some ultra-rare horror books. It was great.
Speaking of the Hardy Boys, maybe five to eight years ago Dynamite Entertainment did a Hardy Boys comic series. I don't know if it was any good, but it was the whole "let's take an old series and modernize it" kind of book. Nancy Drew even appeared in it and I do believe she got her own spin off briefly. Maybe that could be something you'd like to check out if you are curious.
I only saw the first issue of that series, but it suffered from the writer not having much knowledge of the Hardys. There was some huge error--either made Joe older than Frank, or maybe made Frank blond and Joe dark haired. Not modernizing, just uninformed about the basics lol.
Great Haul Cameron, a fun adventure! I used to love The Hardy Boys. I love how you are so eclectic in taste. Those cozy mysteries look particularly gorgeous. The idea of Ramsay Campbell and Peter Straub writing with their kids, so frikken wild! I still need to read Beast, that is a great edition. Wish my local book store would refresh their stock more often. Awesome video!
Thank you, Cliff! I appreciate you and your encouragement of this channel. I agree, the idea of Ramsay Campbell or Peter Straub writing with their kids is crazy! LOL
Such a fun video!!!! I absolutely love your book shopping videos! I cracked up at the backfiring car comment! Also, I totally agree that Edward Gorey is an amazing illustrator! I found a copy of the Freaky Friday book that Edward Gorey illustrated and I love it!
@LibraryMacabre It turns out that he only designed the cover. No illustrations inside (didn't realize that) but still amazing. Also found out that he designed the cover of the two sequels "A Billion For Boris" and "Summer Switch"

@@mandarn80 wonderful!! I hope you enjoy your shopping trip. I have lots of other book shopping videos like this where I explore other Ohio and Kentucky bookstores, if you need more ideas of where to go. 😊

Wonderful! I'm glad that tip helped. :D I have at least 10,000 books by now. Way too many. LOL I keep spreadsheets of series I have, that way I have something to reference at bookstores.
Hey, Cameron, have you been to Butcher Cabin Books in Louisville, Kentucky? It’s a bookstore that sells horror. I’ve not been yet, but I definitely want to go soon.
I have been to it, but I wasn’t too impressed. It’s a *very* small place with a small selection. If I lived close to it, I’d probably visit semi-frequently, but it wasn’t worth the drive for me personally.
Cameron, you held the book Hero when you were showing the big bins at the Dollar Book Swap--do you know that book? It's sooooo good--a coming of age (and coming out) story set on a planet kind of like a version of the DC superhero universe.
I do know that book! I haven’t read it, but I paused on it for a minute because I used to want to read it, then for some reason put it back down. I’m still not sure why I did 😂
Have you read the cat who series of books by Lilian of Jackson Braun. It’s cozy mystery and later on the series a used book shop and it’s owner become parts of the book they used book shop owner even saves the main characters life.
Love the Dollar Book Swap! I started going there a couple of times a year after watching your videos, but it's a bit out of the way for me. Really need to finish my original Fear Street collection.
Cameron I found Fear Street because of you and am now curious about Stein's original Goose Bumps books. Would you be willing to do a video on your top 10 with #1 being your favorite? A Goosebumps Count Down? (without spoilers)
Hey creep! Excellent find on the Queen of the Cold Blooded Tales. I got her to sign a copy of her book Scariest stories ever told back in 2016 when it came out for her Halloween book tour.
Found two really good books last week! I found a 2nd edition 1983 movie poster cover paperback of Christine as well as Goosebumps Series 2000 book #9 ! I also ordered a first edition hardcover of It online!

Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Episode and legend of sleepy hollow. I figured you might want get the ones that adapt horror for kids for your collection
Hey buddy recently i have managed to grab my hands on Christopher Pike's final friends book 2 : The Dance and that also in first edition just wanted to assure that it is a stand alone book in the final friends series with a different story or it is connected to its previous part final friends book number 1 : The Party ?
I recently came across your channel when searching for Halloween book recommendations for younger readers. I saw all the social media links but wondered how is the best way to contact you if I actually wanted a reply or if I wanted to suggest something to you. On a totally different note, at one point in a very early video you said you were a Christian, but later on in a book haul video you didn't really seem enthusiastic about a Christian book series you found. In this video you bought some books from a Christian series. Has your opinion of Christian-themed books changed? (I was raised Christian but the last Christian-themed series I read was probably C. S. Lewis' Narnian Chronicles.) Have you read any of Terry Pratchett's Discworld series? They are some of my favorites.
You can always leave a comment and I’ll do my best to respond! That’s the best way to reach out to me :) As far as my faith, I am a Christian but not religious. I find most Christian books to have crazy ideas and agendas they shove down readers’ throats, so I don’t like that… but on the other hand, that’s kind of amusing to me. So when I find vintage Christian kids books that knock off some of my fave mainstream series, I find it a bit funny. Also, it just reminds me of going to church as a kid. I was never very comfortable in church, but looking back on it now I feel nostalgic for some of the crazy books they’d push, and the Christian puppet shows and religious video tapes. It’s such a weird thing you just don’t see anymore, so when I think back on it I have to chuckle and shake my head at how almost superstitious people in the church were. Picking up these kinds of books is a kind of time capsule to me.
@@LibraryMacabre Thank you for getting back to me on this. I love John Bellairs. Have you read, "The Face in the Frost"? And what about Terry Pratchett's Discworld series. I think the witch books are particularly good, especially, "Wyrd Sisters", "Witches Abroad", etc.
Can you trade books for credit at Dollar Book Swap, hence the swapping part of the name? Just wondering. I would seriously center a vacation around this place.
I'm from Melbourne Australia and yesterday I found ten fear street first editions and a few Christopher pikes at a book depot all for 15 dollars. Its a goldmine down here love the channel mate 💯🤘

Have you read any of Terry Pratchett's Discworld series?
I believe you can! They’re so inexpensive, I never tried it myself, but they do buy books and trade. :)
