My conclusion is if you really want sweet sounding high-quality amp go for a transistor one. For subwoofers mosfet amps are good.
Those people who knows what music is will blindly go for transistor amplifiers. A blind man can tell the differences. 99% audiophile amps are transistor based.
Due to this audio IC manufacturer like National Semiconductor or the LM series IC are transistorized in their output stages.
In layman's language you can use mosfet based amps in tractors or autorickhaw but in high class car audio like Burmester and HarmanKardon all use transistor based cheap solutions.

Acha difference hai sir, aur ye bhi clear hai until you for very high range with active cross overs use mosfet for low frequency or use transistors only for all frequency range in audio technology.
