I have a few more days left in Caracas, so let's go spend the last bit of cash we have.
Also went to 23 de Enero.
    Bad Idea?

Yes you do have a problem by thinking that. When you think like that please ask yourself a negative on how many people have less people to speak to than yourself. There's people out there who have no one to talk to and they die and their body rots away as they have no one to speak to. I'm a 56yrs old person living on my own no one visit me. If I die I will rot away unnoticed for a while. Does that bother me ? Does it heck , So why should you be saying you got a problem cause he speaks to more people 🤔 .

Visited Caracas in 1969 courtesy of the US Navy. I was 21 yrs old, excited to get a days shore leave. We took a bus from the Caribbean port of La Guaira to the city. Very scenic driving over the low mountains along the coast and then seeing this beautiful modern city rising up in a large valley. I'll never forget it. Thank you Kurt for stirring some old and fond memories.⚓🙂

    • @ShouriSeifuku

That trip from the airport to the city is now considered one of the most dangerous for any tourist, and even locals. You are stalked from the moment you land at the airport, and if you don't pick the right ride, you may end up somewhere you don't want to be with nothing left to your name. It was also at one point even extremely dangerous to ride on, being called "La Mancha Negra". The black stain. Due to the exhaust and oils, chemicals that was coming from old and unmaintained cars, a slick developed that made it extremely hard to drive on. Also, it's the last breath of fresh air you will get before you hit Caracas. Once you pass that last tunnel into the city, you will notice your eyes start to itch from the pollution that is hovering over the valley of Caracas.

I have a family now that having been raised overseas, lack the "street smarts" or spatial awareness that is key to survival there - for this, and the unpredictability of the regime, I am not willing to travel there, It's too much risk at this time. Needless to say I have never returned but it was a good country before the regime change. Now I don't know if I will ever return. I have specially fond memories of the beaches. Beautiful ocean. Yo have a friend you actually trust, they offer to have you over, and they take care of you while you are there. If you go on your own, camera or not, its on you. Kurt, I love you as a human and I am so grateful that you are willing to reach out to other humans in areas that have been all but forgotten by the world. But, I would love it if you came up with a system of staying in a chill area, feeling a friend out and using that connection as a way to explore not so safe areas. Does Puerto Rico National Guard still wear any U.S. Emblems on their uniforms? Weird question I know, but I served a stint with the U.S. Army and we had guys from Puerto Rico in our training platoon and always wondered what the relation is with the U.S. Army like are they a part of the U.S. military or separate and we train them or could for example I, as an American decide to serve in a unit in Puerto Rico? Crazy question, 😂 I know but I have never met anyone from Puerto Rico again to ask that question! Thank you.

Kurt, wish I have found this channel before and knowned you were going to my country Venezuela, is Really something what you do, respect the commitment! I would have LOVED joined you for those adventures, and show you All the other faces of Venezuela. Canaima, Los Roques, and other parts of Caracas! Truly admirable how you really went deep in the Barrios I salute you Kurt! (And yes I would have prevented you from getting in trubble with the criminal "Goverment" officials) all those genocidal drug lords are nothing but scum! VENEZUELA used to be an absolute JEWEL before them! Ohh and gotta love that Venezuelan Warmth, beautiful women and great people, delicious food and Amazing energy💛💙❤️

Hey, Kurt. I'm from Caracas and I've been out of my country for almost 4 years. Watching this video was amazing. Brought me so many memories and also made me realize that, thank God, some things have changed for good. Hope I can be back there realatively soon while conditions keep improving. I'm glad nothing bad happened to you apart from those arrogant pigs interrogating you. Hope you have more good and safe travels in my country and outside of it :'3
