      That's the truth, only I genuinely believe he could be the greatest player of all time. He manages to nail all the greats, and has his own style and sound. He can play a 5 minute jam, and include more music than in some people's discographies. A true legend, I just hope the world wakes up and makes him ruler

      @fastguitar Excellent point! Unfortunately Jimmy was intoxicated quite often. I'm a huge Jimmy Page fan however I have heard many of his live recordings that were not always so inspiring. The first LZ concert I went to ended 4 songs into the concert. They literally had to carry Jimmy off the stage. That sucked royally! Again, I think JP is one of the all time greatest guitar players. I believe Greg would agree which is why he plays this song with so much passion. Clearly, JP is inspired by JP.

      Teles are workhorses, but after 25+ years of playing them exclusively, I switched to a PRS. The key is finding the guitar that resonates with you and your touch on the instrument. Once you’ve done that it will elevate your ability to manifest thoughts and ideas into music. In short, it’s not one guitar, you’ve got to find YOUR guitar. My PRS is Korean and I could care less.

    • @FenderTeleDeluxe
      @FenderTeleDeluxe 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I avoided Tele’s for many, many years. Admittedly, I was too set in my Strat and Les Paul ways to ever give Tele’s a shot. Very snobbish on my part. I thought they looked “weird,” didn’t look rock n’ roll enough for my tastes. Finally-after watching dozens of John 5 TH-cam videos-came to realize the guitar’s versatility. Finally bought one 4 months ago and have not regretted it once! I still play my Strat and LP’s, but there is a special, unapproachable quality and feel to a Tele.

    How can anyone thumbs down this guy he has the gift of soulful playing Greg is the real deal why he’s playing small bars is a shame. When I was at GIT I saw so many guys come go that tried so hard that just didn’t have the gift probably the biggest example is Paul Gilbert and he’s spent the last 20 years trying to become a good blues player but he wasn’t born with the gift of soulful playing but was one of the best technical players and a wonderful and great teacher. I use to say you can make it dance but can you make it sing young grass hopper.

    • @nicolasfox
      @nicolasfox 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a question for you. In the video, is Greg getting that controlled feedback from just a loud amp or do you think he's using something like a Digitech Freqout pedal?

      I’m going 99% likely amp

    • @j_freed
      @j_freed 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nick Fox - his Wildwood Guitars demos seem to be mainly amp and cable with a little bit of drive or crunch switches in and out (often it's all in the amp like the Koch amplification The Greg amplifier made in Germany - yeah it's his own model.)
      This guitar has some trickery onboard with the Fishman Gristle Tone switchable circuit that changes the character of the pickups from a sweeter to a ruder sound. Please see the little added push button on the control plate, you hardly notice it. Basically let's you gig two types of essential Tele guitars with half the weight.
