TikTok life hack. Put sheets in washer and clean while they wash and dry. Once they are done you are done cleaning for the day! This helped me balance my chores.
Becky - hairdresser here: when you get hair color on something and it stains - try mixing up some hair bleach and putting it right over the stain. It's designed to eat the hair color. That's how I've gotten hair dye stains out of every tub & sink I've ever stained.
Something I started in my 20s was doing specific chores on specific days. Fridays after work is always changing/washing my sheets + towels, vacuuming and dusting. Then on Saturday morning I throw my clothing laundry in the machine and go to the supermarket. By the time I get back and have put food away, the clothing is done washing and I hang it up (currently live in Australia and don't even have a dryer in the house) and then go about my day. Sunday I will meal prep for the week (it's too dang hard to cook for 1 person otherwise, I find) and am usually done around 11am. I find that staying on routine helps immensely otherwise I don't do anything and things pile up.
I wanted to comment and say that when I first moved over 10 hours from where I grew up and all my family it was really hard, and y’all really helped me thru the difficult time. Thank you guys a lot for helping me cope and feel like I’m fitting in somewhere ❤
For the dishes I find if I just open the dishwasher and walk away it’s alot less overwhelming to put dishes in at a later time. It’s a little reminder and push from my past self to help future me
I do the dishes a little bit at a time! I usually start with the easy things like cups. Then if something needs to soak for a minute before rinsing and putting in the dish washer, I’ll set that up and go work on something else, come back, and repeat until my cleaning timer goes off and then I can stop (or keep going if I feel like it!)
I feel like a new solution would be Matt getting a big batch of custom monogramed match boxes off of Etsy and putting them in a decorative bowl; I bought a batch for my boyfriend for Christmas and he loves them!
I used to use just for men beard dye on my eyebrows and developed an allergy to it…. Chemical burns on my face, pure agony blisters bursting in the middle of the night. Please patch test regularly! I was fine for months and it happened out of nowhere, now my tolerance to certain dyes does not exist which has been incredibly difficult to deal with as someone who likes to change their hair colour! X
For an easy breakfast for the week can be cinnamon chocolate chip bran muffins! I’ll make them on Sunday and it’s great. I’ll add flaxseeds & chia seeds for extra fibre. You can heat them up and eat them with your morning coffee. Great source of fibre
My eyebrows are transparent, so I do the eyebrow trick too. It's fantastic! Will NEVER go back! Also got my mom hooked. Instructions for it does say not to do your eyebrows with it though, so be careful. It's also so much easier with a spoolie than the dumb brush that comes in the kit.
There are so many life hacks here I did not know. I had no clue you should call the fire department if you smell burning rubber. This is So Helpful. Lifesaving Even.
Very much a do it now person. When I get home from work I lay out my clothing for the next day and pack my lunch as well. I can't eat food in the morning because I get too nauseated so on Sundays I make my breakfast smoothies for the week to grab every morning. It means that I wake up and it takes me 10 minutes to get ready and it's great.
@@aliflanagan7669the clothing thing is a habit I started as a kid since my mom made both my brother and I do it and I just never stopped. The food thing took me years to figure out but now it's super great because I don't eat lunch food that needs to be refrigerated so it all gets thrown into my bag the moment I get home which also avoids me forgetting to pack it.
@@aliflanagan7669the clothing thing is something my mom taught me to do when I started picking out my own outfits as a kid and I just kept it up. I always hear colleagues complaining about having to think about what to wear in the morning and I simply eliminated this problem!
About the gas and fire ball situation; turn the gas off, blow on it and then try again (open the gas and light it). Because even when you turn it off there can be a lot of gas around and still form a fireball when you try again, but if you blow it, the gas disperses.
I think hydration is especially important these days because it can help prevent constipation. As Americans are eating less fiber (with more processed foods) constipation can really be a problem, so maybe one reason for increased focus on hydration is around that. TBH, I also think it’s a marketing/product sales thing. New water receptacles are something that you can get people to keep buying.
matt's pasta match hack reminds me of how when i studied abroad in italy i used a lighter and a wooden skewer to make a jury rigged match to light the pilot stove in my apartment so i didn't burn my hand.
Becky the same thing happened to us! It smelled like burning something and we called fire dept and they couldn’t find a skunk but they think they sprayed our basement it was so horrible and I was so stressed 😂
Also Matt doesn’t like redbull he should try the yellow one I think it’s like tropical flavor or something and it’s so much better, coming from someone who hates original redbull
I was confused about the skunk story until I realized they live in a city and probably havent smelled skunks as much as someone who lives in the middle of nowhere or in a more rural area
Ok ew the things that came up when you looked up sloppy joes lol I love my sloppy joes gotta make them with ground beef, some good buns (potato or brioche) and use a more bbq base for the sauce then add cheddar cheese to the top maybe a few onions maybe! But that’s it lol
15:43 this happened to my boyfriend he signed his eyebrows and the top of his head. His hair did not grow back the same. Be very careful with gas barbecues
Not sure if I'd call them hacks but ... Use a small spray bottle filled with water to spray food that will be reheated in the microwave. This will help provide steam. I also keep a water filled spray bottle on the nightstand to use if I get thirsty during the night. That way I don't have to get up and then spend 30 minutes or more trying to get back to sleep. Keep a small, not very bright nightlight on in the bathroom at night. Mines provides just enough light for quick night time bathroom trips. This better than turning on the bright lights, which would really wake me up, or darkness. I don't have a dishwasher so I can't let the dishes pile up much. I started drinking more water and less pop (aka soda) in 2001. I drink mostly water, juice and lemonade. Rarely have pop and I don't like flavored water, coffee or energy drink. I would never buy any of those expensive water bottles.
Needing to drink more water was always a thing I heard about growing up and in like high school health class. And literally there's that whole thing about how someone can survive up to like two weeks without food but not even three days without water. I think it's just become something that people take a lot more seriously in recent times, probs because of things like watertok on Tiktok. Maybe it's cuz y'all live in LA and everyone's more quick to adapt to health trends that it doesn't seem as big of a concern, but there's still plenty of people all over who don't bother drinking enough water and it leads to a slew of health problems. I know for sure it screws up your kidneys, hence kidney stones and other urinary issues that people don't think about until they're actually in the most excruciating pain that results from those conditions. Personally after I made it a habit to keep a jug of water in my room, I naturally ended up consuming it more frequently over the past few years and it has helped relieve some of my urinary issues that I struggled with in my early 20s. It's not magic, it's just literally what your body needs to function.
The reason we (USAmericans specifically) drink so much water compared to recent history is actually just marketing and capitalism! Research has shown that necessary water intake varies wildly from person to person and that the best advice is to listen to your body. Drink when your thirsty, not to meet some made up quota. Adam Ruins Everything has a great episode on the drink companies (Gatorade 👀👀) and their tactics to push the idea of hyper-hydration. An actual term used nowadays to describe Americans drinking habits.
Y'all worrying about a little bit of lead in your Stanley cups while your metal tooth fillings have mercury (super minut and safe) but still. Don't get bent out of shape over everything

When I think of just for men, I always think of Jenna marbles using a box to dye dye brows,
Just For Men and Jenna
The lead thing really applies to any hot/cold cups. Its how they seal the vacuum seal to make it so the cup will hold temp.

the deep dish was my special occasions one, the thin squared cut one 😋

Palermo’s!!!!!! My dad totally worked there in high school in the 70’s. We get Palermo’s every time we my Grandma in Oak Lawn.
