Basically, color: inherit vs color: currentColor will produce the same result but background-color: inherit and background-color: currentColor are two different things. The currentColor keyword actually uses the same value as set for the color property of the element. If the color property is not set then the cascade effect comes into play and looks for the color property defined for ancestors.
