Tip: get Duraline from Inglot, and make the paste on the back of your hand. I have ruined multiple eyeshadow corners with fix+ and this saved me. Also Duraline is made specifically for this, I found the sparkly shadows truly bright even after they dry down on the lid, later. Step 1: put a drop of Duraline on the back of your hand Step 2: pick up some eyeshadow with your desired dry brush Step 3: mix it with the liquid and step 4: apply on lid. Extra tip: perfect for using the shadow as an eyeliner, too!

I use Urban Decay Original Primer Potion in this same way..Make a paste, etc..These Colors..So Pretty..Worth the experimenting, I think..I will give the Duraline a “Whirl” w/these..

For $ 52 a pop you shouldn't have to work so hard to make a eye shadow work for for you!!
Denise Sheffield Agreed, but these actually do work dry-it’s just a much different texture and look. Mostly glitter with a wash of color if you don’t use a mixing medium.
From their Insta page, they are making a $60,000 donation across the 6 charities. It is unrelated to the sales of the products. So if you are buying a certain color to support a certain charity, it is not a percentage of the sales of that color. At least that is my understanding from the comments on their Instagram
I just wanted to say I read it as they’re making $60K across all 6, not individually. To quote them “this year we’re making a donation of $60,000 across 6 of the charities” and then they suggested the poster to stay tuned to their Insta for future charities. It was a response to @anishmish’s question. That means each charity will get $10K each. Charity is charity, & it’s wonderful to support animals, but for large businesses it’s also a way to avoid taxes and when used as a marketing point, as Chantecaille does, I do feel it’s disingenuous. If anyone is interested in helping the lions (I don’t know organizations for the others) I recommend subscribing to the LionWhisperer TH-cam and watching his amazing work with lions and allowing the ads to play so that the channel receives monetization.

Thank you for this very detailed video Michele! You always put so much work into your videos. That's why they are so helpful. I will try applying my liquid and creme blushes over powder as well. Like you I usually forget to apply them before powder and if I don't forget I don't like that powder dims the blush down. Usually I end applying powder blush on top. 😘
I do the opposite, I dip brush into shadow then spray the brush w/eyeshadow on it with fix+. That’s how a Mac artist told me how to do it & it has always worked perfectly fine for me. 😊

Gorgeous eyeshadows. I have the dusty lilac. I probably would not have bought it if I had checked the price before they rang me up. The packaging is neat, the colors are great, and I don’t mind a little bit of fallout - but the fallout is crazy and I find that they are too much trouble to work with. No matter what I do, primer, concealer, wet brush, dry brush...within a few hours, the beautiful foil shimmer is almost gone, the color oxidizes dark, and what you have is a whole heck of a lot of glitter.
$52 for an eyeshadow single. 5% - which is about $2.60 - goes to each particular foundation. I think they could have gone a little higher there. I won’t be buying any more of these.
Pangolin scales are used in Chinese medicine, I believe. Not sure what they are thought to help or heal, but that is why they are endangered.

I'm a huge fan of Chantecaille. Their products are wonderful with the added plus of actually consistently giving back. After your haul, I ordered Elephant, Rhino and Giraffe. I think they are coming in today. I also thought these lend themselves to one shadow looks which I've been doing more and more. I love all of the colors and love the coolness. I'm sick of red/orange/yellow shadows. I'll probably go back and get the blush and lip LOL. Thank you for such a detailed review.

@@christyferasin4560 - Yes I love the tones of the 3 I got. They are gorgeous. There is glitter in them but not too much and it is very fine. I use a stickier eye base and do not set it which keeps the glitter from ending up on my upper cheeks. The quality is top notch and colors are beautiful.
Brenda F random and I know this was ages ago, but do you find the elephant and the rhino very similar? I have rhino and I just got elephant but in the pan they don’t look different enough to justify the $80 price tag (I’m Australian haha) and I can’t swatch them to test because if I swatch elephant I can’t return it haha. Thank you in advance for any info you can provide x
@@howtogirl Honestly on the eye and conversational distance there isn't much difference at all between the two IMO. If you stare hard enough you can pick up a little olive in the Rhino. The elephant is slightly more gray. These are extremely glittery and will end up all of your cheeks unless you use a really tacky eye primer. I don't mind having them because they support a good cause but I never use them because of all the glitter. Unless you LOVE glitter everywhere these may be a pass for you.
Steph B I’m in Australia too but had chance to swatch them overseas recently. I was initially surprised just how glittery they were so I only purchased Rhino for the olive-grey shade being quite different (bit of bluey-green to me)... but on the eye it wasn’t a total glitter bomb and then I was kicking myself for not getting Elephant and Pangolin too! I think Elephant leans more brown-grey with a touch of mauve (am I mad seeing that?)and I’m about to order those 2 shades now they’re finally here in Aus. I’ve also seen Elephant used wet to smoke out the under eye and outer corner with a plum liner and it looked lovely. Not sure if I’ve helped or confused 🤷🏻♀️ sorry.
Hi Michele, I am a one-shadow eye makeup look gal and you are spot on with your review. I have tried on the colors at the counter, very fortunate they have arrived in SG and am in love with them. My favorite is Pangolin, the color changes with different lighting and angle. I am good to go with just Pangolin 😁😁

I spoke to a lovely Chantecaille SA in Harrods yesterday and she said they had just had training on the eye shadows and they were told they are not supposed to be used wet. Which is really weird because your wet swatches look lovely.

I really need to take a deep breath and calm down otherwise I‘m going to buy all of these eyeshades. The packaging is phenomenal and I‘m a mono-shade girl. Also I truly think Chantecaille can‘t find a better brand ambassador than Michele on YT. I checked out the lip veils bc Michele recommended them. They are so good. Ever since I came across Chantecaille in NYC almost 20 yrs ago I‘ve been obsessed and it’s a shame the brand isn’t widely available in Germany where I‘m based.

I purchased Chantecaille Polar Ice eye shadow palette after watching your review. I also brought the Polar Ice lip sticks. The lip sticks are really beautiful and a great formula! However I was really disappointed with the eye shadows. They have very little base color mostly fine glitter. Even with multiple primers including glitter glues , wetting my brush with water, Fix+, and several mixing mediums I had glitter all over my face. They are really tough to work with for such a steep price tag! They look pretty but need to work on their formula.

It is my understanding that if you do not buy directly from the brand the donation isn’t happening unless the company that now has the makeup says they are donating 10,20% percent or some companies say one essential item to “save the children.” So If you want to make sure you’re donating make sure you’re shopping sites they say so.

Those eyeshadows are absolutely stunning! It's also amazing how they are supporting conservation funds. They are definitely beyond my budget, but so stunning.

Michele, I want to thank you for introducing me to Chantecaille. I had never heard of the brand prior to seeing your recent videos. While in Houston a week ago, I went to Nordstrom. Well, let me say I really went Chantecaille Crazy. Michele, unbelievable gorgeous shadows !! They all looked amazing on you. I am getting the Giraffe since that is my favorite animal. You know i want them all lol. Question. Does Mac Fix Plus help the shadow stay on longer? I use water on my brush now. That lip veil is beautiful also. Why can’t all the TH-camr explain so calmly like you do 😂. When I watched your PR haul, I was on the Chantecaille website in a nano second. I ordered the Elephant and the Giraffe eyeshadows, and now that I see you in the Rhino, I'm going back for that as well. That cheek gel, by the way, is stunning on you. I didn't order it because I have two cheek gels now and like you said, you couldn't use them up in a lifetime. I have been a cheek gel fan for years, because to me, it always looks like a natural blush, or it may be that I'm a klutz applying powdered blushes. I only use one eyeshadow at a time, because I'm not that good with blending, plus I have hooded eyes, so a lot of that blending seems to get lost on my eyes, plus I don't have that kind of patience to learn blending. I have a feeling I'm going to be using that Elephant taupe quite a bit, it's just stunning, goes with everything.
I just found out that this collection is permanent! Whoohoo! Getting as many as I can as soon as possible and then later getting the rest lol

I'm so happy they are permanent! I have ordered the Pangolin and Giraffe (for now) but I definitely want all of them. Want to try the cheek gelee's as well. Love the lip veils as well but that color is way too neutral for me - I need some color.

I saw these in SpaceNK yesterday (preview not in stock yet) and they are beautiful BUT will be £48 each. I am a luxury beauty lover but £48 for a single is far too much for me. Gorgeous colours but more sheer than I expected and quite a lot of fall out when swatched dry. I can’t believe the quality is twice as good as a PMG single, or nearly 3 times as good as a Surratt single. Do they say what proportion of profit goes to the charity? If it was at least 40% then maybe I could get on board.
I think because it's a different formula, we just need to use a different technique to apply it. I get a good result if I apply using a finger and gently swipe once in the pan for each application than if I were to swirl my finger around several times (and get fall out). As to its value, if you find a shade you fall in love with, I think it's worth it. The finish is very flattering and doesn't emphasise texture, and you can build up the opacity quite easily with the second or third swipe on the lids. But I do understand about the price, it's NZ$89 here and that could buy me almost a month's worth of groceries!
I loved playing with these in store past weekend. I used the Elephant shade with a finger, and tapped it on top of shadow. There was still minimal fall out. However, like you mentioned, not as much and it lasted me for the next 6 hours (that's when I took my makeup off) . Nordstrom is taking preorders for next week at the moment. I think I will pick up the Elephant one! These looked gorgeous on you Michelle! Thank you so much for the swatches!
Sole was too metallic for me, the packaging is so pretty on these, so I would only pick these up for the packaging which I told myself I cannot do anymore, well....Maybe just one 🙈😅😝

My favorite animal is an elephant. This may be my very first Chantecaille product. Also eyeing Rhinoceros and that cheek gelee. Would Vibrant show up on my tan skin? For reference, I would wear a NC44 in MAC foundation.

I was about to purchase their Duochrome in Tibet from your review of the Duochrome because I thought it would be a 'no brainer' eye look and small enough to travel with, but these eye shadows are even more 'no brainer' and they support endangered species. Not sure if you can answer this...do you think they would work for me....I am 57 with some texture on my eyelids. I like a soft shimmer but not ‘glittery’.
Hi Peggy, I also have some texture on one of my eyelids and I have one of Chantecaille's luminescent shades in Mare (from the Positano collection) - in my experience it doesn't emphasise texture. I find it has a smoothing effect, very flattering and it wears well during the day so I don't get creasing. I don't use primer normally, so it stands up pretty well on bare lids.

Loved the eyeshadows!!!! They were all so pretty but the giraffe wet looked so good on you, I thought. I've got so much to save for but it's all worth it. Got my Armani rouge lipstick in I had ordered and I am thrilled!!!!

I’m so happy you made this video!! I was trying to find swatches of these shadows about a week ago and I wasn’t able to. After watching your review I decided to order Giraffe! It will be here Tues and I can’t wait! I have a hard time finding brown eyeshadows that doesn’t pull too orange or gold on me!
These shadows are gorgeous. Definitely planning on picking up Elephant, Rhinoceros, and Pangolin. For $52 a pop they better blow my mind lol.

Hardly ever get excited about anything nowadays but I am so tempted to pick all these up once they hit the UK. Honestly, I like the olive green the most, but at the same time I like cats so much, I would pick up the cheetah and the lion too. :) I know it's a bad reason to buy makeup but still. :) Also, I am so into the one eye eye looks now - I think it's so elegant and on trend.
