    Great video pal, we're getting married there in August 2024 all booked, never done a royalton before. Our first time in Jamaica was at the Riu palace jamaica in montego bay. Which we both thoroughly enjoyed they couldn't do enough for you. We walked out on our own and had no bother, we won't hesitate to wander about in negril. Keep up with the vids. 👍👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

      Trainers are fine I’d say nice smart dress shorts and a polo top for men in most places and no swimwear etc at night (you’d be surprised how many people don’t follow that rule) you’ll have a boss time

Most of the trip advisor reviews are from our friends over the pond and they are more inclined to a complaint than us I think (No offence to anyone reading this) but i'm looking at this for a holiday with the Mrs later this year and your video might have swung it for me. • @TheTravelTographer
      @TheTravelTographer  ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers buddy,
      We tipped say a dollar each every other drink and for evening meals we tipped between $5-$10 dollars depending on service, we then tipped the maid about $5 every other day and I little more at the end.
      Of course the more you tip the more they hang around you of course
      Hope you have a great time

      Thanks a lot, no you don’t have to pay for lounger at the beach or around the pool, you may want to give the towel guys a tip for sorting your towels and beds out but there’s no set charge to use them.

    hey! love the vid. how did you find the whole covid testing situation? ive heard people from the UK have been selected at random to have a covid test when they land in Jamaica 😩 making me anxious

    • @TheTravelTographer
      @TheTravelTographer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks a lot buddy, so we didn’t get selected for another test at the airport when we arrived but we did see some passengers taken aside for a test.
      I assume they were lateral flow tests that were being used for speed. We just had a test a couple of days before at our local chemist and then needed to ensure we had a “2 day PCR” test booked for our return to the U.K. (they check this when you depart and the airport internet is poor so make sure you have it ready to show buddy.
      I’m sure you’ll be fine. Have a great time, you’ll love it

    • @TheTravelTographer
      @TheTravelTographer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So it’s a Mavic Mini so not subject to a lot of laws etc due to the Weight being very low, however I made sure to stick to the rules set out by the Jamaican CAA etc. also made sure to fly at times when it wasn’t to busy and away from people as much as a could.

    Awesome video! We’re heading here in April and have also stayed at Royalton st Lucia - what are your thoughts on entertainment between the two resorts? How does Royalton Negril compare? Thanks!!

    • @TheTravelTographer
      @TheTravelTographer  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks soo much, you’re gonna have a great time.
      They’re 2 very different hotels, the Royalton St Lucia is a lot smaller and intimate, and a bit more of a relaxed feel compared to Negril and definitely a smaller.
      But I’d say the beach in Negril is better even though St Lucia had a lovely beach.
      I’m currently at Planet Hollywood (Cancun) part of the same group and I’m making another video so maybe you can subscribe to make sure you see that video (out next week)

    • @TheTravelTographer
      @TheTravelTographer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi thanks for the comment buddy, so we took around $200 for tips, we could get low denomination bills but reception can change for you, we didn’t walk around Negril but I know it’s ok to do so especially around 7 mile beach area etc. I’d avoid trying to get seated at “Hunter” or armadillo at peak times between 7-8pm as it’ll take longer to get seated so maybe go early or later unless you don’t mind waiting.
      I’m sure you’ll have a great time, it’s a really good resort
      Enjoy 👍😀

    • @jamdawgutube
      @jamdawgutube 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Of course it's safe to walk around Negril. Negril is a tourist area! Every day tourists walk around in Negril, Montego Bay and Ocho Rios. I've never heard of tourists being robbed/attacked in Jamaica. If this happens, it is extremely rare- like less than 0.1%. Crime in Jamaica is usually local-on-local/gang-related. Crime in a country can be complicated to understand for a visitor. Funnily enough, crime against tourists is more common in other tourist-dependent countries (Mexico and other Caribbean countries, for example), but people rarely ask this question when going to Mexico.

    Do the restaurant require reservations

    • @TheTravelTographer
      @TheTravelTographer  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, at Royalton a you can’t reserve restaurants unless you’re diamond club where you’ll have a butler whom can make reservations for you.
      You just go to the restaurant you want to eat at and either get straight in or be given a pager type thing and go have a drink and wait for it to buzz to let you know you’re table is ready.
      I hope you have a great time 😃
