Hi! Stunning!! I tried sliced onion, ammonia and salt on the copper, but the result was not similar to yours. The surface has become rough, with some black parts. I tried several times. Please, could you help me? I really loved this abstract texture.

I love your videos. Thank you for these projects.I have a practical question. Do you wash the clothes in your washing machine and then dry in your drier?

      Hello Rebecca,
yes I do wash the clothes in the washing machine and dry in the drier... Just make sure you scrape off all of the reactive materials (rice, onions etc), then rinse the cloth by hand in water and give it a good wring out.
      Hope that helps,
      Nicole.

@@creatinglinusonlineschoolo8355 Thank you for your reply. Yes it does help. I tried the ammonia and salt on copper. It was lovely. I also learned I couldn't solder something onto it. I either solder first or do a cold connection. Life and learn. I am having trouble soldering a copper tube onto a piece of copper. The solder just won't melt.

      @@rebeccawisniewski7302 Hello Rebecca,
What kind of solder are you using.... is it "plumbers solder" or Silver Solder (which has silver in it)? What kind of flux are you using... and lastly what kind of torch are you using.... lots of questions, but I need a good picture to offer helpful advice. Oh... and have you soldered copper before?
      Nicole.

I've been looking all over for a few days, but I can't find anything other than vague musings about a yellow patina on copper. My nephews are embossing viking runes on thin copper plates I made out of copper tubing, like a little 1x3 placard. Its patina time, so we use clear containers that make the color change easy to for them to see. They all have favorite colors that are easily possible, like red, green, and blue, except the smallest(and most boisterous) one wants theirs to be yellow.
You have some good looking yellows showing up on some of your pieces, assuming my color settings are accurate.
Is it possible to isolate the stuff that created the yellow patina, or is it just a random effect of what you were using?
Gold is probably close enough, so there's always that to fall back to, but I was at a dead end, thinking yellow was all talk until I saw your video. You've got some very cool experimentation going on.
