It is the second longest race in the Royal Ocean Racing Club calendar and first race took place in 1980 with only thirteen boats. Since then, held biennially, the fleet has grown steadily, attracting a record 64 entrants from all over the world.

You probably don’t know it but you showed a glimpse of one of the most storied racing boats in racing history, IMP. She had multiple shades of green. In 1977 she won most everything including the Admiral’s Cup, Fastnet and the SORC.
