I love mancala! I played it with my sister when I was young, but the rules we played with were different I guess. There was no "capture" or whatever and your turn kept going even after you dropped your last marble. If there are marbles in the spot where you drop your last marbles, you pick them all up and keep going until you land in a spot with no marbles. So if you start with one marble and drop it into the next spot that had two marbles, you pick them up and move three more spots. This makes planning ahead and counting the marbles very important. I prefer my way haha, but still cool to see the Grumps play it!
Same! I saw this and i was super excited but then it was like explaining the rules and I was like, what? I wonder why the rules ended up so drastically different...
wow. its really interesting seeing this game played outside of my family. the rules about capturing and only being able to pick from your own side were never a thing. the middle pockets were fair game, you just had to start your turn on your side, and as long as there were seeds where your hand ended you could pick them up and keep going. so during the beginning of the game turns would last forever. especially if you had the good maths and ended your hand in your store pocket.
I played with a mix of both--anything that landed on your side you could keep going, capturing was a thing, but landing in your own pocket was just safe and didn't give any extra moves.

Me - rewatching the Clubhouse series for the third time and learning how to play all these games
Dan calling his dog "good girl" is the positive thing I needed today lol 😆 2:07
idk why but Dan whistling in my ear was so nice??
Dan, if you see this, whistle more, please and thanks.
2:07 - ‘okay, goood girl ✨’
my heart 🥺
Edit: 11:44 aWwW 🥰
Bruh same 🥺💗
Had me quaking.
Arin: "I should have took the free turn"
Arin, literally 10 seconds later in the exact same boat: Doesn't take the free turn
_Dan:_ "Lay down, good girl."
_Dan's fangirls:_ "Yes, Senpai!"
“Yes Daddy Dan!”
The style and physics of these stones are so beautiful and satisfying. I have to agree with Dan because I would definitely own a collection of them.
Teacher: I'm calling your mom!
Me: Mancala
Me? Mancala
Momcala
Forget the Dan cam.
Forget the Arin cam.
Give me Camilla cam!
When Dan says "I don't want you to capture my stones" while completely unaware that he could be capturing Arin's if he moved his 3
Dan: Lay down, good girl... goood girl
Me: *blushes*
I love how they skipped the rules and were all surprised that there was something they didn’t understand. This happens a lot it seems
you must be new here (jk) XD
Yes
00:58 dude, slow and (might I add) simmering chaos is perfect for 2020. And the years following so far.
Why's the intro so quiet?
I turned it up and then had my ears blasted with Dan's gargling!
They don't want to scare the kids
@@xboxbri60 Is that a euphemism
It's also the wrong intro. I assume they have a custom template project in their video editor and they forgot to swap and mix the intro.
@@xboxbri60 Same, the intro is normally like way louder than the talking, so I thought my volume was super low and turned it up.
1/12/2022 and this is still one of my favorite club 51 games they played. Just occupies a special place in my heart cause of stuff going on in life around the time this aired.
Having played mancala most of my life, I was telling the screen "No! Not that one!"
I love watching the clubhouse series while i do homework, its so freakin relaxing for some reason.
'I got a dog, gently licking the switch' if the nintendo switch didn't exist, this would be.. not ok.
light switches are bad to lick?
@@modelomegatyler I mean, they're not _good_ to lick...
@@oddcrafter1270 does it electrocute them or is it more of a germ thing?
@@modelomegatyler I'd say germ; there's (hopefully) no exposed wiring within reach of your tongue, but light switches get touched a lot by people who may or may not have clean hands.
@@oddcrafter1270 yeah... sad
Dan is way too relaxed. He's starting to forget grammar😄 "...playing these games are..."
I'd buy the whole game just for Mancala, what a cool game.
watching these clubhouse 51 games is my favourite, they're so satisfying
I want Dan to tell me "lay down good girl" so bad
The intro was subtler than normal... I needed that today, like a nice little reminder that we all need to quiet down a bit... (I take that as we all need to take our time to relax and take a break)
i used to play this all the time with my sister and cousins... i feel like i'm gonna be yelling at the screen soon
Bro I feel you I played this with my friends all the time and at some moments of the vid I was screaming my lungs out
couldn't help but notice your pfp, im also pan! : ) nice to meet you!
@@valeriegreen2354 hey, cool! (sorry for the kinda late reply, i didn't get the notification)
You could play mancala with anything! You can use cheerios, dead roaches, nail clippings or poo nuggets.
The desire to see patterns completed is not necessarily an OCD thing, it's just a normal human thought process. Obsessively thinking about an incomplete pattern and/or compulsively trying to "fix" a pattern is OCD. Something that very few people legit have and I'm willing to bet 99.5% of people claiming to have it on social media don't actually have it.
Dan actually has OCD, though.
@@leviiiiiiiiiiiiiiii No dude, OCD is debilitating. Someone with OCD wouldn't be able to play these games without it being a real issue.
@@HackedUpForBarbeque you're saying that there is only ONE level of OCD? i would argue that. OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE DISORDER , not DEBILITATING compulsive disorder.
@@Zynoxic No that's not what I'm saying. Words have meanings and I urge you to use a dictionary to look up the definition of 'obsession', 'compulsion' and, 'disorder' then try and tell me diagnosed OCD isn't, by definition, debilitating.
but dan has said before he had actually really struggled with ocd in the past if i remember correctly
Arin's calm voice in headphones and Dan saying good girl is making me experience a whole other kind of episode
I'd like to see an episode where Suzy and Ashley join you guys in a game
Still waiting for a date grumps with dan and ashley playing a sierra game.
That would be fun! Unfortunately, the toxic portion of the fan base often makes that a risky move.
Two headed giant MtG.
Contrary to popular belief, being in a relationship with a professionally funny and entertaining person who is comfortable performing does not automagically make you also professionally funny, entertaining, and comfortable performing to hundreds of thousands of people on a medium that is permanently etched in time.
@Roger Dodger I actually disagree, but I felt the same way about every episode Ninja Brian was in, so I get it. Maybe it's just because Arin and Suzy together remind me of my wife and I, but she gets a lot of hate for just. . . existing. I would like to at least see Date Grumps come back on Valentine's Day.
I absolutely love this game. So happy you guys got to play and enjoy it as well
"Lay down good girl"
I wish Dan would talk to me like that.
0:50 dan has it right!, these games may seem simplistic, but that is part of the charm. most of these are quite relaxing to watch, in addition to you boy commentary sets it in stone!
Love how they EDITED IN cussing in the first minute. So fuxkin funny. Like damn, even if they try not to, doesnt matter hahaha
Who needs ad revenue when you got that sweet sweet Raid sponsorship money
I used to always play this game with my mom all the time and this brought me back to those good memories. Thank you guys for that. Hope you guys enjoy the rest of gaming.
Mancala is genuinely my favorite boardgame because of how hard I kill at it, I'm happy you're playing it lmao
I learned how to play Mancala from Club Penguin! I love it.
23:18
The entire time Arin was thinking and it looked like he was gonna pick that pile I was actually going “Nononononononononononono”
this is my fave game youve played so far on clubhouse 51, something about the pretty beads and the sounds they make are satisfying to watch. very relaxing!
the way i used to play was you'd pick a pile and move until your stone fell into an empty slot. guess that was wrong
No no! Thats called avalanche style! Mancala although originated in africa spread across the east adapting several rule changes as all the rules were verbally exchanged rather than written down at the time! Although the way showed in the episode is the most common style the way you played is entirely valid!
Earlier in the week I bought Clubhouse51 because of how much I love these videos, and after discovering how much I enjoy Mancala was so excited to watch you guys play it too!
I love the more quiet intro! Thank you 🙏
I wasn’t ready for it to be mixed with the rest of the audio lol. Started turning it up and blasted my speakers to gargling
The sound of the stones falling was so relaxing....then Arin screams 😂
DAN:" I Must increase my bust!"
Me: " I shouldn't know this... But I do... But I shouldn't!!!
I have so many good memories of playing this game with my family, it's really heartwarming to see it on a channel like this. Thanks, guys.
