I bought two, FYI, you can remove the metal covering on the upper part of the stem to save a bit of weight. They’re just there to cover the Lime badging. The 4 flathead screws that come in the box are to replace the roundhead ones that attach those covers.
I've been renting lime scooters for ever and now they left my city so I'm buying my own and couldn't decide between the es4 and e45 but I don't want a big bulky one and the lime was perfect so I'm getting the es4 in about 2 weeks and can't wait love them
Got mine locally from BigBattery in Chatsworth. Didn't come with tools. Had some Hex tools but the tiny screws that go inside the side panels are not HEX. So bought some M4x8mm screws and installed them with a phillips screwdriver. The upper larger screws (2 on each side just under the handle bar) are not HEX either. BTW: Got a can of Matte Black from Home Depot for 94 cents & Painter's tape for $3.49 and some old newspaper and painted the WHITE bar and now looks decent. If anyone knows the actual Non Hex tool and size for the larger screws mounted on the top side of the WHITE Bar please mention it here since the OP did not mention it in the description although their video clearly says the did LOL. They could be TORX L-Key but have to confirm that. Will get some from Home Depot and can be easily returned if they don't work
Just bought mine! They've only got a few left. I've never had an electric anything. So I'm assuming this will be a good intro into the e-scooter world. Pumped.
I pd a little more for this industrial fixed version, from scootexpo, not a bad price$449, plus shipping im still happy, even though i didnt get it yet, but the reviews make this thing out to be built like a tank👍👍👍 so i think i still got a great deal
I bought 1 of these scooters. Their well built. They ride really rough stock. I modified mine to ride much smoother and nicer; a world of difference. All you need to do is get a 1 1/4--2 inch thick shock aborbent/spongy rubber padding, then carefully cut that to deck dimensions and then zip tie it to deck with 4 heavy duty zip ties. I like the scooter MUCH better after doing this easy modification. Best of all-It cost nothing to very little $. I bet mine rides better than the original folding + rear suspension es4 now.
@@DogInaBathtub YES; a massive improvement seriously. A friend of mine was shocked by improvement too. The pad I'm using is 1 1/4 inches thick. I recommend (1 1/4--2 inch thick pad). It should be a rubber shock absorbing /spongy cushiony padding type material. If you have this scooter go for this easy basically very low cost$ upgrade; you will enjoy riding the scooter much more!
@@DogInaBathtub No, I custom made it using the type of material mentioned in earlier posts. There is no particular product specifically sold to do this. But its honestly not very hard to do. You need a hack saw or heavy duty sheers or something to cut the material. A piece of sand paper to smooth the edges a little after is recommend to. You need 4 heavy duty zip ties (plastic) I cut up a Door mat; the mat was 1 1/4 inches thick (1.25 inches thick) It was a rubber shock absorbing cushiony padding type material that I used. Use a material that's 1 1/4--2 inches thick because you need actual cushioning. Too thin and it's a waste of time. Good luck if you decide to do it. also when when riding scooters good shoes helps a little bit to; think Nike style etc running shoes with good cushioning and support
@@GBDogg504 I tested this mod today and I can't thank you enough 😁 Have you ever tried an electric scooter with inflatable tyres before? If so, how does the your es4 with the mod hold up against the scooter with inflatable tyres in terms of ride comfort?
The handlebars a a little wiggly. Anyone know what tool to use for those 6-point star shaped nuts with the peg in the middle? I also want to be able to remove the battery which is the same nut.
Those are replacements for the retail version. The Lime (Cheap) version has a longer base stem. You'd need to do some welding and cutting to make it work. I tried it, Its not worth the hassle. Plus the durability is also jeaporodized when you try to add it. Its possible but its not easy. Id say dont waste the money, Spend it on a good bike lock instead
*@NYK* -- Twenty years ago, I worked for an online toy retailer. I learned then that I couldn't use Razor style scooters, though others regularly did so around the office. My feet are too big for the deck, and the handles were WAY too low for my frame & stature. Honestly, I think they would have been too small for me when I was eight. I've been taller than my 5'-2" Mom since Second Grade.
Hey Zac and Jesse, if I'm in Asustralia but I'm a big fan, a patreon and just, you know, a top Aussie bloke! Could you guys arrange postage of one of these skooters to me please? I couldn't complete a purchase via the website obviously. So I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. Cheers. Keep up the fantastic work! P.S. I'm tracking you progress with your Pike's Peak mission with great interest. Fun!
Do they still have any available? Send a link if you have it I cant seem to find them. I checked big battery as well and they are out of stock unfortunately.
david cook Thanks!! Actually ordered one the other day. Slightly more expensive but didn’t know if big battery was going to get more in stock so that worked out great!

The non -folding ES-4 does not have the rear shock absorber featured on the consumer model. It makes a big difference
Yup. Also having to assemble it on your own is just very annoying

Do you get 18.6 mph top speed?
Tip: for more easy removal of stickers, heat them up with a hair dryer first. Pull slow and steady. Works for bumper stickers ....
Thanks for sharing a detailed, unbiased review 🙂.
Just bought mine and hopefully nothing is wrong with it, waiting for it to arrive tomorrow.

UPDATE:Coupon "nowyouknow20" does work now. I just placed my order.
I bought a nearly new Ninebot MAX which is the newer version of this-> segway the maker of these is a cool company, i wish i got one kinda ahah
It worked for me last night, I can’t wait for it to get here!
It's an ES1 with extra battery. ES2 have more powerful motor and rear suspension. ES4 is bundle with ES2 + battery.
\Which iOS / Android app will connect to this Scooter?

This is actually a genius idea. Do you feel a big difference riding over rough road/pavement?

What app is for ES4? I’m using Segway-Ninebot, but it’s not like the same as you use.
This would work really well for management or maintenance inside a large factory. Thinking outside the box a little bit
Just paint the white part to black and nobody will think it's a lime scooter.
Control board issues save your money buy segway es4 folding instead this is the way...

Same with mine! Did you ever figure out what tool it is?
They are called tamper proof torx bits not sure what size
Anyone know if Segway’s protection plan is worth it? Does Segway have good customer service?
Can we modify it to fold? I saw folding mechanism on ebay for these scooters.

Hi guys. Thanks for the video.
Have a question, is there a kit available that will allow it to fold?
