Maybe they'll nominate Tim Walz for president: they haven't even gone through the convention yet. I'm not sure Democrats even need a convention. Most of them just do what they're told. They're unburdened by what hasn't been, and burdened by what is - or some such nonsense.
Me too! He’s also very well spoken and articulate. Strong commanding voice too. He has a great military record too with the national guard. And he’s only 60 years old! He’s has a good presence. He’s my first choice, 2nd is probably Kelly or Roy Cooper.
Number 1 Walz for me as he has strong Mid West and blue collar appeal with his down to earth style, strong on labor, excites younger and female voters with his policies. Strong speaker. Followed by Beshear and Pritzker. While Shapiro helps with Pen he hurts Michigan and Wisconsin. Kelly if you want to go very centrist, which I don't think is the right move, and mediocre speaker. Cooper lacks charisma. The repub strategist recommends Kelly so yeah extra mark against him. Repubs always give "advice" that is actually bad.

they are basically the same age. the vp needs to unite the party by speaking to the young progressive voter base that is essential for campaigning and creating hype.
I think Walz is overall the best, but Kelly is a good pick for the border issue, which is important to swing voters. Shapiro and Bashear are solid picks. She has good choices to select from and they all have strengths.
Swing voters know no democrat will do what is necessary at the border. We all know democrats are for open borders

Kelly is a bad pick for two reasons: We need his Senate seat and taking him out of it puts that in jeopardy next election, and also he's not popular with unions.
Shapiro isn't popular with unions either, particularly teachers' unions because he supports charter schools. Plus Shapiro is too much of a zionist, and risks pushing away the younger voters who think Kamala might be different on Gaza.
Beshear seems solid, although Walz would do better in a debate against JD Vance.
It's going to be between Kelly, Shapiro and Walz. Those are the only three that make any sense politically. Cooper and Beshear are way too boring (Kelly is boring as well in presentation, but not on paper) and the US isn't ready for Buttigieg.
I think not only are we **ready** for a Buttigieg, we **need** a Buttigieg. He's just an all-around great guy, and I think would make a **great** candidate, and absolutely dismantle Trump & JD Vance in any inevitable debate.
I love his credentials but we need Mark Kelly in Arizona.
The Governor will get to appoint his replacement to the Senate but then there will be a mid-term election for his seat, which puts what could be very close numbers in jeopardy.

Well, first Harris has to win. Otherwise, there may no longer be presidential elections. Trump will have his choices for electors appointed by the states and simply keep winning until he dies or Vance overthrows him.
He could run for governor of his new home state, Michigan, in 2026, but then you don't want to jump ship to run for president in 2028 if Harris loses or for some other reason chooses not to run. If she wins, and runs again, Pete can wait until 2032, of course, for a presidential run. He'd first have to be elected governor in a swing state

Shapiro is a younger exciting politician in the swing-state with the highest electoral vote count! Shapiro is the clear choice. Keep it young.
Give Tim Walz a shot! He’s brilliant and has a strong commanding presence. Outstanding military record, and has the right stance on all the issues. I think he’d balance out the ticket perfectly. Mark Kelly is amazing too but too quiet and doesn’t carry that energy we need to wow audiences and viewers. Roy Cooper is also a great choice.
Give Harris one term then her VP a term in 2028 and Who knows in 2032. Someone like Jamie Raskin with Katie Porter since William McRaven decided not to run who was my first choice before Harris

Walz power in communicating the messaging and his Midwest appeal will do a lot to bolster and balance the ticket with Kamala, potentially the first woman President and woman of color at that. Having spent 36 years in the Senate, including a decade or so on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and 8 years as VP Joe Biden was fully experienced in "national security/ global conflict and that sort of thing" when he became president, and it's only because of the pathetic lack of coverage that the media gave him that the entire country doesn't realize how incredibly lucky we were to have him.

My choice for Kamala Harris' Vice President is split between Pete Buttigieg and Josh Shapiro.
Pete Buttigieg is my first choice because he participated in the 2020 Democratic Party Presidential Primaries, he has experience working within the Executive Branch as a Cabinet member, and he would not have to give up any Governor or Senator seat in the battleground states.
Josh Shapiro is also an acceptable choice for me as he shares some of the same qualities as Pete Buttigieg but with potentially greater appeal among voters of the Rust Belt.
Mark Kelly has very respectable credentials, but I think he would be more useful serving out his full term as Senator from Arizona until 2028 or offered a Cabinet post in the Harris Administration.
Whoever Harriss Picks to be VP will be Better than JD Vance.

Mark Kelly is a dull speaker. Josh Shapiro is a guy that can speak to the American workers about how worker friendly this administration has been. And, still acknowledge, that people are still hurting and work needs to be done.
He is a liability in the progressive base and for Muslim voters because of his comments about Gaza protestors. So he could be a liability.
Shapiro would be the guy except he smeared the youth voters over their protests around Gaza.
So he’s risky to damaging the coalition. It’s a shame too because he’s a great speaker!!

The most important consideration that isn't being adequately discussed with respect to a VP pick, is who happens to be MOST QUALIFIED on domestic and foreign issues, to immediately step into the role of President should VP Harris be unable to fulfill her duties. That should be the overriding determinant for selection of a Vice-Presidential candidate.
