How do I even begin to describe this pilgrimage. I have never been to Lourdes but you inspire me as a disabled person to always be the positive person that I am. Thank you Nottingham diocese thank you to all of the people who helped people like me

The parish church of lourdes is unfortunately not the Church that was from St. Bernadette ' s time. The original church was located in the present day main square and was called St. Pierre or St. Peter. It unfortunately burned down in 1904 was the town decided to destroy the remaining skeletal structure a few years after. The present parish church was built as a separate church in 1875, but was decided by the town council to be a substitute for St. Pierre. I see some blogs that say that there is a movement to rebuild the original church associated with St Bernadette. You can see the model of the original church at "Pettit Lourdes " just up the river at the other end of town. I find this place very interesting and highly recommend for anyone who is interested in seeing how Lourdes looked like during St. Bernadette ' s life time.
I felt I was cured of my shyness here as I did an open mic as 2 guys said they put me down 4 it but I just did it and brought the place down (doin stand up) and since then I have enjoyed doing it and became more confident, also I have been able to over come my shyness (as I was very shy before going to Lourdes) I also hope to do TV presenting and I now act.
@@crmbonnici I live in England and so only a couple of hours flight for me or like next year I'm going by train. I admire you brothers and sisters who travel from the other side of the pond to go on pilgrimage. Maybe one day we will meet and pray together in this special place!

Beautiful old churches but a lots of religious stores in the town kind of gets boring .Cause all of the stores practically sell the same exact things .
YEs, people need to make a living, but I learn to see the beautiful even among the merchandising. God bless those who sacrificed so much to build those beautiful churches with their blood sweat tears and tight budgest.
