the first solo is myles and the second is mark
I love hearing the difference of Myles' and Mark's playing style. Myles is more jazz/bluesy while Mark's is more aggressive. You can also hear it in their dual solo on Blackbird.

When I started listening to AB a few years back...every song I heard I just couldn't believe how great it was & I was like this is my new favorite...no this is my new favorite song! I quickly learned that with Alter Bridge one simply does not have a favorite song...bcuz they're all great!😊

This song ROCKS !
A stand out song for sure. Musically, so full and vibrant. Loved the Latin American start. If anything, that start was almost a distraction from what's to follow. You know how I always find another band with a similar sound, as if to twin them. I couldn't do it with this song. Just love the lyrics, the way there's a real hint at something, but without giving the whole thing away.
We all must take on the search, constantly for the truth to be present in everything we do, say, and even think.
Help is available for the asking. Just like a fast food outlet, we don't ask, we don't get!

I would say Cry of Achilles is about the pain of your hypothetical achilles heel torn, and the beauty that pain brings might bring hope that there is something more beutiful to live for that to just sitting on your pain not going anywhere prepared to give it all up

The song Fortress from this same album is a real jewel as well.

Now that you like Alter Bridge just start with there first album " One Day Remains" and go from there. Note: if you listen to the beginning of Black Sabbath's "Spiral Architect" you'll hear the similarly to "Cry Of Achilles"
