They perform this live and it is ridiculous when they get to verses 8 to 12 with all the style changes. ❤❤❤❤❤ Loved your reaction. A concert version of this live would truly blow your minds.
Oh Holy Night from Pentatonix, I will keep requesting. I will probably have to wait till next Christmas. I won't give up. Anything Christmas from Pentatonix is a win.
If you scroll back a few years on Scott’s TT, he has a clip of himself practicing his own part from the middle of this song with headphones on (listening to the whole band). It’s pretty crazy how intricate each individual part is! Ben Bram, their arranger, makes a comment about how he thought it would be fun to make each verse just a little different, to which Scott cheekily replies “I’ll never forgive you!” It is amazing to see live!
"#Pentatonix doesn't *do* covers; they do upgrades." So how do you upgrade something that's just crazy? Buy into the craziness and take it as far as it will go. And while you're at it, make sure it contains beautiful harmonies, Matt's most chocolatey bass, and Kevin's highest, sweetest falsetto. Yep. That should do it.
O THANK YOU . THIS IS EVEN BEFORE LISTENING TO THE SONG. I LISTEN TO A PENTATONIX SONG OR REACTIONS TO PENTATONIX EVERY SINGLE DAY!! MAKES MY SOUL "DANCE" . GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA
So many intricacies in this arrangement. They even changed the order of days 10 through 12. They can make even the most boring songs seem fresh and new.
That’s such a long song they had to do something to break it up with effects and genres. It’s fun to watch them do it live on stage. They do a lot of choreography with it. The video doesn’t capture that aspect of their performance.
Regarding Matt, you're right - you can't always hear him clearly. And that was never a problem with Avi. Avi has a very dramatic voice. If Mitch were soloing, in his most angelic style, and Avi came in underneath, all the listeners would gasp and say "Oh! That bass!" and all they'd listen to for the rest of Mitch's solo would be Avi. That doesn't happen with Matt, but do we *want* it to? There's something I've noticed in reactions to videos with Matt. I've heard several reactors claim that Kevin *must* be using a drum track, he couldn't possibly sound that much like real drums with nothing but beatboxing and body percussion. They're half right; they're wrong about the drum track but they're right that it isn't just beatboxing and body percussion - it's beatboxing, body percussion, and the other half of the rhythm section, Matt. We never get that kind of comment when Avi is the bass, only Matt. Because Avi's bass *can't* go unnoticed, and Matt's can. Matt is extremely good at using only the volume necessary to add the bass component to Kevin's "drums," so that's what people hear, not a beatboxer and a bass, but rich, perfect drums. That takes immense skill and restraint, and it's one of the reasons Matt is such a huge asset to Pentatonix.

You definitely need to see a live version of this! No comparison!💜💜💜
Yes u want to hear Matt being a killer bassist, check out Mr. Grinch!!! It’s soooo good!
For a totally unexpected version of an old chestnut, check out O Come All Ye Faithful. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen is also pretty wild.
My all time favourite is Oh Come all Ye Faithful and the live version of You’re a mean one Mr Grinch

Would love if you’d react to Dance Of The Sugarplum Fairy: Reimagined, with Kevin & Matt. One of my favorites!

Scott does the base when the base sungs

This one love is wild. I don’t know how they do it. They made a boring song, interesting and of course their voices are top notch.
That was fun!!
