The emperor is burning with jealousy because Ying Luo rejected him.😃 At this point in the drama she is still in love with Fu Heng and she is extremely loyal to the empress. She would never betray her mistress for any man and the empress deserve her complete loyalty, devotion and respect. I am glad Ying Luo rejected the emperor. He needs to learn that he can't get what he wants in life always. Also to win the heart of someone as extraordinary as Ying Luo it takes time. Fu Heng deserves her at this point in the story but the emperor needs to learn a few more lessons.😀
I think the saddest part here is that every decision she ever made after this point was always and forever to serve the empress and then after her passing the empresses memory. Every single decision came back to how much she loved The empress. She entered the palace in the first place out of love for an older sister, and I think that loyalty and love was transferred to the empress through the empresses genuine kindness towards her and towards those around her.
Yingluo is the friend we all need. She's intensely loyal, will fight for you against everyone, will protect you against your enemies and will be your greatest cheerleader.
This loyalty is indeed Chinese culture,I heard it's a historical drama base in history
The empress is really so beautiful.
The Emperor fails to understand because mostly all the women around him try to sell themselves to get a better life, they are easily gained, so it's like a marketplace, where he as the Emperor can get everything he wants. But then there is Yinglou, who doesn't care for that thing at all and loves freedom, that's why she's "unruly" and "a bad woman". He is trying to break her by saying she is beneath him and thus must obey him and be happy to accept him but it doesn't work. Also, his father or grandfather (don't remember exactly) killed his girl-servant because of their childhood love, to teach him that emperors can't love or have feelings, they have to suppress them, so as he later says he's always been cautious not to have any affections or preferences in order to be a good emperor. Seems like that's why he is vexed by Yinglou, she arose those feelings in him, and he failed to suppress them, and that's why again calls her "a bad woman". The Emperor once complained to the Empress that he wanted her to be freer, not to follow all the rules, but when he meets Yinglou he is swept when she does so and even more than that, he can't really explain why he hates her so much. He confuses extreme feelings of admiration and jealousy with a well-known to him feeling of hatred and just transfers it to Fuheng by saying Yinglou is dangerous to Fuheng, he in fact subconsciously means she is very dangerous to himself, cause he senses Yinglou's started gaining his heart.
I just love the series, so entertaining and complex. Also got goosebumps from this particular moment, gives me strong Darcy and Elizabeth vibes, great acting!

The emperor couldn't understand why he was that angry with Yingluo. It confused him so much. He was mean to hed because he loved her. But he never wanted to accept it.
Every human has a fault. The emperor's faults are his pride and complete inability to assess women. Though his actions are hateful at this point he redeems himself with his other good points, such as dedication towards the state and encouraging good competent people. It is sad that in his personal life, he disappoints his wife, spoils Fuheng's happiness, and acts like a jackass with Yinglu.

And he also never knew how to love, though improves with Yinylou a little in the end after all those troubles he caused 😏 I love the moment when he fights with the Dowager Queen for Yinglou because of Chenbi, from that moment everything started working really well for them. But jeez it took years for a man to finally understand he must cherish, love and protect his woman. The emperor is super smart in state affairs, but really dumb in love 😂
This is not the Legend of Ling Fei, it’s The Story of Yanxi Palace.
Erqing was never anyone’s favorite. She tried to be everything to everyone but her insecurities got the best of her. I don’t blame Yingluo for killing her later on.

This one is ironic: Er Qing does exactly what the emperor accuses Yinglou of, but he does not take notice, because he is not attracted to her.
At the same time he has projected those intentions to WYL, bc he wont acknowledge that he is drawn to her ... well until he does.

@@deb9711 it's true. Some people are nice when they are powerless but change dramatically once they are in charge. Overall I think it's envy. It's really a curse to envy others, it destroys you more than the other.
@@madelainepetrin1430 You're right. Her envy for Wei YingLuo and the love that Fuheng had for Wei YingLuo is what ultimately drove her crazy. Erqing Should have definitely paid attention to the saying be careful what you wish for.

I had the same reaction to that statement. They should really do their research properly. It’s embarrassing.
It's a missed (albeit strategic) translation. The Cinderella story would convey a similar idea, since most people knows the story. What she is actually saying something along the lines of "flying up to the tree branch and turn into phoenix". If you don't know the idiom you wouldn't have slightest idea what the heck she is talking about.

Ying luo Is a loyal person, honest
Heart, smart, genuine in all she do, she had a unique personallity. If empress is not dead she will never be a concubine of emperor. Because of she fight the justice of her master sincerly teacher like a elder sister empress her decision change, and it's validity decision. And yes ying luo she loves empress more than fuheng and the emperor.

He has a harem, many women with all of their needs. Once we get to know them we can empathize with them. What kind of life they had? Waiting to be noticed or remembered, hoping for a prince that would raise their status...the emperor is also their partner and he cares for them in his way. You see it with Chun, Xian, etc but he also neglects a lot of them, some he'll never even meet. He's not allowed to love only one of them.
@@madelainepetrin1430 I know, I respect him in that part. He couldn't love all of them equally but, beside the queen I can see that he tried to be fair with the others or at least he pretended to be. But in this particular scene, Ying Luo was not among those woman. She was not one of those concubines that he had to marry for whatever political reason. Ying Luo was the queen close attendant. If something happen between them while the queen was sick, she would devastated.
@@pinklover1569 I think the interaction between Yingluo and the emperor is one of conflict like many romance. It can't be plain sailing or it would boring. Great love stories demand hardship. Only after all these, can lovers truly know one another. An interesting point is that Yingluo is very young and idealistic then. She got under his skin and he doesn't know how to handle it. I find their story on par with great English romances of the 19th century.
I don't know to what extent internet C-drama's are true to historical life, values, facts. Simply said, the emperator was the bull and his women were the uterus of the imperial family. If one was pregnant, it was unnecessary to keep on having sex with her. At least, for the time being.

I won’t say it end badly, and I wont say it end happily either. Depend on the person actually. What I can say, this drama really worth watching.
It's a good ending. You can look up the historical facts and find that Yingluo births the next emperor and that she becomes the top dog.
