Since God Bless Satan is one of my all time favorites, decided to request an interview around 1999...........one strange, dark atmosphere is all I can say....and some very odd answers. The album holds up amazingly well, every song is still a classic!
One of the most talented, definitely horn sections not to mention unique and how do I say. Not showing up in suits and shinny black matching docs all dressed up, which I like back when I was 16. Don’t get me wrong. But these guys showed up and they just didn’t give a shit a blew most other bands off the stage. I even liked Mighty-Whitay. A few really good songs on there. But hands down one of the top 3 acts of the time and still going strong in ‘22 and even better.
They were supposed to play at the Troc in Philly in '97(?) so friends all went there, but for some reason they opened for the Buzzcocks at the TLA that night, so I was the only one of the group that got to see them :) I think Goldfinger also played that night.
I remember this video from 120 minutes. Not into ska, but this song still bounces around in my head from time to time 25 years later. If they had made their album name and cover "warm and fuzzy" and had a group name that rolled off the tongue easier, I bet this would have been huge.
I remember hearing this one off the cuff about 20 years ago. They may have been able to make it 'bigger' with a different band name... Then again ... 'Cherry Poppin' Daddies' were huge beyond their britches.
My son and daughter are seeing these guys open up for Streetlight Manifesto in Denver tonight!
My fucking dream concert... :(
fishbone3333 I was there! It's how I was introduced to this band actually. They are now a big favorite of mine.
Whenever I hear someone talking about Doomsday (DC Comics) I shout "Doomsday!" in reference to this song. No one gets it.
if you mimic'd his voice or tone i'd get you, high five from a distance
I thought I was the only one 😀

ska is like when ants get trapped in an "ant mill"/"death spiral" and just follow each other's pheromone trails in circles until they die.
