Dave, appreciate the good video. Mostly use DX Engineering RG-8X coaxial cable here for HF. Really like their premium antenna wire too, BTW . As you know, what helps a lot is waterproofing the outdoor connectors and avoid kinking the coaxial cable (observing proper bend radius, etc). 73, AC3HT 📻
Dave, please do all new hams a big favor, and some of the older ones too! Please remind us hams that BIGGER is better, when in reference to coax cable. and to please lets get away from the RG cables. The RG cables are an OLD WWII standard, and have been well replaced with the newer LMR standards. While RG cables will certainly work, and continue to do so, many are lulled into stopping at RG8 thinking it is of good enough quality. In truth, RG8 should be valued much like RG58. use it, but be damned mindful of its limitations. Otherwise Spend the extra couple pennies more and invest into the LMR standard and enjoy a better cable! Oh and SWR isnt everything. SWR doesnt mean much on a tuned noodle if the signal lobe shoots over the desired target!

Use the biggest coax you can at the shortest length. Plus low SWR on the antenna

or go to balanced line rather than coax with the antenna match at the beginning of the balanced line - cut tx line loss to almost nothing.
