I used to do junk in 90s , remember watching first trainspotting!
Than watched the second when i was off but on methadone program, i already was living a normal, statistically average life. Everything felt so true about the movie.
Had a school reunion a few years ago , we all looked equally same beaten up.

Well done for getting clean! I used to do all sorts of stuff in my teens & I went completely off the rails but then I got really unwell (nothing to do with the drugs but to do with a health condition I had in my early teens) & I knew I needed to get clean coz I couldn't use drugs at the same time as my medications. Best thing I ever did & although now I am disabled & still very unwell (just been issue after another) I'm a lot better off. I still smoke weed for my pain but my mental state is a lot better after getting off all the other stuff. Seriously though, well done! It's really tough getting off drugs & the temptation is always there but you've done really well & I hope you have a great life!

Honestly, this movie changed my life, none has ever hit me that hard.
Never having been on drug addiction, but as someone with ASD and ADHD, I can totally relate to addiction itself and how it burns you from the inside. The only way I know to interact with life is through obsession until this obsession drains me, and there's nothing left.
The choice of Silk, by Wolf Alice, as the soundtrack for Trainspotting T2 was really on point. The lines "Just looking for a protector, God never reached out in time, there's love that is a saviour, but that ain't no love of mine. My love it kills me slowly" reflect how it's like to survive a war between obsession, abstinence, and boredom.
    Excellent video bro.

Nobody chooses life(abstract). Everyone of us chooses a life(concrete). Most of time we're all too high on something or somebody to get it clear.

i feel you. The books are way darker than the movie. in the movie Renton and other characters are somewhat sympathetic but in the book everyone is just awful. The books also give greater insight in what drives them to heroine abuse and theit nihilistic view towards the world. a chapter that really spoke to me was the one where Renton talks to his therapist.

This has been my favorite movie since it came out. I saw it in a tiny theater in Seattle, thought it was a movie about seeing graffiti on trains... boy was i blown away with the opening. I was strung out at the time so it hit hard. This is one of the best movies, still. I decided to choose life almost 9 years ago and I'm still doing it today. Thanks for this video ❤

I turned 45 a month ago been a druggy on and off for 32 years and why i dont know i hate it. I hate it as much as i love it, last few years ive come to thought, that is the reason for me to keep falling in i blame people, i blame the doctors that keep me on the medz that keep me hoocked, i mostly blame my self hell ive even blamed lady luck but ive startet to think of reasons to keep me sobor and those are fucking hard to find. couse i got no real friends (not that im alone know plenty of people) but do i trust em 100% NO. Fam sure i got that but do we love eachother not really too much shit has happent in those years to ever be mended. Yet i do get up everyday and try again and again maby someday the sun will shine on me and warm my cold body. So say no to drugz and stay away from it couse it will wreck your life and you will never be the same again.

It was just a poster slogan from the Scottish health education unit in the eighties...tone deaf to the brutal times much like the sepulcheral Don't Die of Ignorance in the face of the Aids crisis.

I think the movie Is not comparable to the Novel . Trainspotting Is the best novel ever of Irvine welsh , but the message Is not about drug addiction at all . In my opinion Irvine welsh Is the Fedör Dostoevskij of our time .

Sickboy gave up being a pusher lmao coz that was a long lasting career, he along with the other lads had one big score and in the secong movie he was a blackmailer lol, i know the books are different but if any of the gang was a dealer it was fucking Swanny/Mother Superior... this guy clearly hasn't paid much attention to the movies. The fact he can't pronounce Edinburgh, says it all. Pardon the pun 😂 Eden burrow lmao
